10 Spots for 7 teamsEach team doesn’t get 2 not enough spots
I said honorable mention hmEach team doesn’t get 2 not enough spots
I see what you’re saying nowI said honorable mention hm
Just looked at that why do take 14 honorable mentions seems like to many7 buckeye teams with 5 starters each, so 24 of 35 starters will receive some type of league recognition.
Participation trophy?Just looked at that why do take 14 honorable mentions seems like to many
I know coaches vote on 1st team. Not a 100% sure about hm. But I think each coach has to nominate the kids they want to be considered. Often the hm will be given to a senior over an underclassman depending on who the coach nominates. I have seen years when Northridge dominated the buckeye and probabaly deserved 3 hm but only got 2 because of the 2 player rule.So if each team gets two honorable mention who decides that for each school? Do they vote on hm?
No doubt that the coach has to nominate the kids they want to be considered. But playing everyone twice a year, I'm pretty sure most coaches have an idea going into the league voting of who they are going to vote for. I would guess that all the coaches vote for 1st team and then each individual coach gets to nominate their 2 players for honorable mention. Has the voting already taken place? I see that coach and player of the year have already been posted on the SWBL site for both divisions.I know coaches vote on 1st team. Not a 100% sure about hm. I know Franklin has 3 on First team, Minton ,Johnson and Soph. Noah Rich ,I have been unable to find the complete list . Any help would be greatly appreciated. The 'Cats list expanded to all 5 starters. Russell and Emrick added to Honorable mention. I just wonder if Tez and Nate would have not been injured and out so many games, would all 7 been on the all-league team?No doubt that the coach has to nominate the kids they want to be considered. I don’t think it’s automatic. Carlisle Girls coach got it this year despite not winning league.Jeff Smith coach of the year, I don't think that if you win league that you should automatically get coach of the year. Madison had the best team.... I believe Waynesvilles coach or Prebles coach should have got coach of the year.
I see, but still Madison had all the players! I think Waynesville and Prebles coach did the best with what they hadI don’t think it’s automatic. Carlisle Girls coach got it this year despite not winning league.
I think some coaches like to keep it a surprise for awards banquet night.I know Franklin has 3 on First team, Minton ,Johnson and Soph. Noah Rich ,I have been unable to find the complete list . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree but if two kids from a 6-6 Milton team make 1st teams shouldn’t one of them be the leading scorer rebounds and assists are about the same for all threeYou could argue all day about stats and this or that but overall a solid 1st team.
I really thought the kid from Dixie should’ve made it and felt any one of the three MU kids were deserving. But overall i felt they got it right on the Buckeye side.I agree but if two kids from a 6-6 Milton team make 1st teams shouldn’t one of them be the leading scorer rebounds and assists are about the same for all three
6-6? We’re only talking conference records? Also, let’s look at the whole body of work the Brumbaugh boys provided.I agree but if two kids from a 6-6 Milton team make 1st teams shouldn’t one of them be the leading scorer rebounds and assists are about the same for all three
Some Buckeye teams may not have to get used to since Milton is leaving the league. Regardless, the player has a chance to be first team all four years of his school conference. That probably doesn’t happen very often for many players.6-6? We’re only talking conference records? Also, let’s look at the whole body of work the Brumbaugh boys provided.
It’s a classless thing in my opinion to get on here and pinpoint players from one particular school. Blake will be there the next 3 years so get used to it.
This kid is just getting started. Milton isn’t the Milton from a few years back.
Classless by saying who I think should make it get over yourself buddy, sorry your feelings got hurt, but if we talk about out of conference games who did Milton actually play that was any good Covington, Graham,Yellow Springs, seen the freshman play twice nice player but not the “ player of the year” like you said he was going to be, maybe take those Milton blinders off once in while and watch other kids from different teams, Milton was a 6-6 team won’t be any better next year get used to it.[/QUOTE]6-6? So with all the buzz here, I thought I'd look at the freshman. 40% FG, 30% 3pt% 1:1 assist to turnover ratio, 4 rebounds per. Last ten games, only scored double digits / made more than 3 buckets in 3 out of 10 games. And the team went 4-6. I'm not a close follower of the league but that doesn't sound like 1st team anything anywhere. Is the league that weak, or are politics at play here?6-6? We’re only talking conference records? Regardless he still averaged 14.83 points per game in games against Buckeye Division opponents. Sure he had some down games, but I think he was still deserving. Including 27 points in a big win against Waynesville late in the season. I'm not sure who you think should have passed him up in league voting but even the other Milton kids had rough stretches of basketball as well.So with all the buzz here, I thought I'd look at the freshman. 40% FG, 30% 3pt% 1:1 assist to turnover ratio, 4 rebounds per. Ok so then he averaged like 5 points out of conference. Guess it is the weakness of the conference then. I just thought 40/30 % with turnovers = assists wasn't impressive. I have no idea who else might have been better. Out of 7 teams I would have thought quite a few. The one kid that I thought could have made first team is the Dixie kid, but he averaged less points per game in division games on a team that did not win a league game and went 1-21 overall. He also had the ultimate green light, taking almost 100 more shots on the year than Brumbaugh. Actually the more I've looked at the stats the more I'm starting to see why the Freshman got first team.
