Anyone have any preseason predictions on the GMC, ECC, GGCL. My top teams in each league would be:

GMC: Princeton, Mason, Lakota West
ECC: Winton Woods, West Clermont, Lebanon
GGCL: MND (big gap) Seton

GMC: Princeton, Mason, Lakota East, Lakota West
ECC: Winton Woods, West Clermont, Lebanon, Kings
GGCL: MND...The rest of the league is such a struggle. Ursuline, Seton, and SUA

I'll bet money that Seton and MND split this year. Head Coach Scott Smith and his staff have them headed in the right direction. Seton basketball is in the gym/weight room 4x a week including early morning sessions at 6:30am or so. According to their Twitter/X posts, they've got 20 or so kids at things that aren't involved in fall sports which is huge because Seton basketball has always been a dumpster fire and now the culture is changing.

Never in my life of following these forums did I think I’d see an actual coach currently on staff at Seton not only call the program he’s been apart of prior to this year a dumpster fire, but also volunteer to put money on a win over MND who… *checks notes*… has beaten Seton by double digits in every matchup for the last 14 years. And this is why people don’t take us seriously. But best of luck this year coach! The alums and neighbors hope you’re right!

Unless Seton brought in some studs, they're going to need more than the weight room to beat MND.

MND is bringing back basically their entire team, plus whatever players Drew recruited in.

Hoping the MND vs Seton matchups are hard fought and good games this year. MND has some new faces but so does Seton.

I don’t think the gap is as far as people are stating above, but I’m biased. Seton’s team has to go out and earn respect.

From my perspective, it’s been a complete 180 so far from last year. Kids and coaches seem to be gelling nicely and both are working hard to improve. Time will tell.

Created an account just to throw out bogus accusations. Awesome. Glad you’re here.

Always nice to see a school that hasn't been very competitive start to turn the program around but creating a winning culture isn't done over night - I think it took other sports at that school a couple seasons to get back on track.

It is all good right now but what happens when freshman/under classman start playing over Jrs/Srs. The culture will show then!

Hoping Seton had the opportunity to beef up their overall schedule this year and play some competitive schools. Good thing is that basketball isn't as competitive overall in this area as vball & soccer.

This is really one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" situations for me. There are always coaches, players, parents, fans, etc. that say that things are "different". From what we saw last year, there's a gap between Seton and the consistently really good teams in the area (in this case, MND). Is one summer of growth and "culture change" enough to close that gap? My opinion is no. And as someone stated above, when upperclassman start losing time to underclassman, how do players (and more importantly parents) react?

Whether it happens this year or in the coming years, I actually hope that gap closes between Seton and MND. But that's going to be hard. With Drew at MND, it's going to turn into a glorified Legends program. I suppose all of the privates sort of play by their own rules, but I hope that it's not just all MND around here.

Agree 100%.

Hey, the players could go out an lay an egg. It's possible. Where we stand now, they definitely cant say the players didn't work hard enough or the coaches didn't put in the time. That excuse is gone. That's the difference.

It's going to be real interesting how the program handles upperclassmen losing time/who makes varsity. IMO, there's definitely at least one, maybe two Freshman that makes the squad with 9 returning varsity players.

It's no secret that MND has great funnel to attract local talent. MND will definitely keep staying strong for years to come where Seton has had brief rush of basketball players enter the program. That's one of the many challenges that Coach Scott is faced with going forward. They have girls with game. They don't have a Gerton, Parrish, Bransford, Dee, or a Martin. If they can put it all together as a team, they should see some good matchups against MND ...hopefully : )

Who'd they bring in?
That team had Sole and Dede (in addition to Gerton, Hill and Sneed).

Really?? Thats a big statement. Do you think the freshman is good enough to move the needle that much?
I find that Princeton girls who come in as freshmen with hype (Kelsey Mitchell, Brianna Sanders, etc) often live up to it, so I expect Thomas to be immediate impact. Kiara Harris should take a big jump as a sophomore and at least has one D1 offer. Just piecing things from their GMC and hudl roster, they could just be overwhelmingly big with five or six players over 6'0''.

4 wins and you are in Final 4?

If reading these Brackets correctly, it could be possible to have 2 SW OH teams in Final 4?
1 from Region 3 and 1 from Region 4?
Anyone else seeing that the same way?

You still taking action on this? Not a fan of either program but I’ve got eyes and a brain!

Advice for Seton fanatics. Sit tight, see what happens. Enjoy the growth and improved culture. It takes time and realistic standards.
Seton could have a year of growth and start moving the needle forward and it feel like a giant disappointment with all the talk. What's the real barometer? Is splitting with MND the goal?

Unrealistic expectations and constant disappointment can disrupt culture quickly.

Tri-Village lost their 6'4" leading scorer and rebounder who moved to Versailles. They will not be at the top of D6. Also because of this there is no way Versailles isn't the best team in D5 in the SW.
