No but they should definitely ditch the Guardians.
If they were going to change the name, I wish they'd have done something cool with the "Tribe" or something like that. I feel it was a missed opportunity to do something cool and really connect with the fans. However, I understand why that probably would not have worked either.
I'm OK with the Guardians name in any case.

Guerdians is a horrible mascot. Cleveland Spiders would have been 1000x cooler, I will die on that hill.
Washington Redskins is the name that really ought to come back. Most American Indians had no issue with the Redskins name and many of them were fans of the team.

I don't mind the Guardians name. I still call them the Indians anyway. The Guardians name is kinda meh, but they could've done worse. I'm not really in favor of the Spiders name because it sounds Minor League-ish. I think if they went with "Blues" it might've been alright. Its the first name they ever went by. You've got the Browns and the Blues, idk. Maybe you tie it into the Rock-n-Roll HOF? Just sounds like a baseball team name. I know St. Louis Blues are already a hockey team though.

There is nothing wrong with the name "Indians" in and of itself. The Braves and Chiefs carry on with no issues. The problem was the goofy Chief Wahoo mascot. That is what some people (white politicians) had a problem with. I bet if they would have changed logos, everything would have been OK.
Honestly, "Redskins" was much worse. Cannot imagine a team named the Blackskins being allowed. However, redskins are a delicious potato too. Again, just change the logo...

I think the Dolans are too cheap to buy the Cleveland Spiders name and rights. Someone outside of the organization actually owns it.

Wrong.
They started with the logo, claiming they'd leave the name alone they just didn’t like the logo. The logo got "retired" and then it became oh the name is racist, you've got to change it too.
And the Dolans caved like the weak fools they are. There's nothing wrong with the name or logo. White liberals who want to be offended for everyone else can go F themselves.
