Region 28 Playoffs

TV/WG was more so WG being bad. They never beat a team above .500

TV isn’t bad but outside of CCP is the worst team still playing I know it sounds obvious based on their ranking. Their Oline is really bad and the QB play is average at best for what they want to do. I’m pretty certain the only plays in their playbook are QB power, dive, bubble screens, and seam shots.

Their defense struggles to stop the run and wasn’t great by any means the few times Ansonia threw it. Not trying to put the Villagers down but if MLs JV would keep their foot on the gas it could be a 70/80-0 ball game
Getting Finkbine back week 10 was also a boost for TV. He had 130 total yards and a TD and ran a kickoff 55 yards against WG. He also led the team in tackles. With that being said, it won't matter tonight.

Regional Quarter Finals (Lines from @fantastic50 )

#1 Marion Local (-49) vs #9 Tri-Village
#4 Ansonia (-13) vs #5 Lehman Catholic
#2 Minster (-17) vs #7 St. Henry
#3 Cincinnati College Prep Academy vs #11 Fort Loramie (-21)

I know this region compared to others is pretty boring, however anyone predicting any upsets tonight?
Only 2 games here with even a shot of being an upset are St Hank and LC.

Hank defense is talented but cooling off that Minster offense is virtually impossible unless you’re MSML.

If Ansonia starts slow they could be in for a long day. Going to be missing a starting DB so the 2 froshies have to step up. Ansonia punched Shawnee in the mouth so hopefully they do that tonight as well. How is the LC defense against the run? Have they played a team like this? Northridge?

Lehman/Ansonia will definitely be a fun one. Hopefully it goes like the scrimmage where Ansonia was chunking 10-15 yard gains nearly every play. But I’m not that naive. It won’t be easy and their pass game has seemingly gotten a lot better. It’ll be interesting.

Hank/Minster game could go 2 ways, either Hank plays them tight or Minster punches Hank in the nose and wins by 30. I think it’ll be closer to a 28-7 ball game. Although the Hank defense has really showed up.

FL/CCP will be whatever Loramie wants the score to be. One of the “really good” Cincy area teams meets a local area school and gets their eyes opened. FL may have a bus ride hangover so I’ll go 49-14 FL.

MSML/TV will be a TV surprising upset. The Village people will rejoice claiming a State Title in the moment chanting “We are the Gold Standard! WE ARE THE GOLD STANDARD!” Then they wake up and realize they lost 64-0 to MSML and now it’s hoops

I'm surprised FL didn't want that score in their favor haha sure looks like their eyes were opened

Semis

Minster vs CCP- seeing what CCP did to Loramie makes me want to think it will be a touch tighter than experts think. Like 49-7 tight.

MSML vs Ansonia l- One thing I know in this one is Hall will get his guys ready to go. They will play their tails off for 4 quarters. Will it be enough, no but they’re excited for a rematch.

TV scored 14 on ML which was more than Minster and Coldwater combined. Anything is possible.

The TV qb made some nice throws under pressure and they fought hard the whole game. Of course the Marion D didn't go all out like they did against Coldwater and Minster. #59 for example only played offense last night. He will go both ways when/if they face Minster
If the QB (soph) sticks with football (really good bball player as well), he has a bright future.

I am forecasting more of the same next week:
#1 Marion Local (12-0) by 44 over #4 Ansonia (11-1)
#2 Minster (10-2) by 39 over #3 Cincinnati College Prep (9-2)

Did not see any reports on the ML game (other than final score). What exactly the story of the game?

how big was their QB? i think he has thrown fro over 3,000 yards this year... can he run the ball? haven't seen the stats yet for the game

so where are these games played at, I'm thinking the ML -Ansonia game at Piqua, Minster-CCP game at TRoy?

It was very interesting. Haven’t seen the stats yet but they had to throw it 50-60 times. Almost all were quick hitters that went for minimal gains. Late in the game they put a few together, converted some fourth downs, and ML committed a few PIs. It was almost like playing Ansonia but with short passes instead of short runs.

6’4” and 150, I believe. It seemed clear they didn’t want him running much, in part because there’s not much to him, but more so because he’s a really good basketball player.

I could see Ungruhn starting on defense this week. After what Ansonia did last year, chewing up most of the 1st quarter on the opening drive, the Flyers might want to diminish the chances of that happening again.

Ansonia knocked him around a couple times and they stopped running him until the 4th quarter on the goal line. Where he got popped and fumbled.

Can only imagine what MSML would've done to him

You're correct the coaches aren't too keen on him running the ball because he's not very big at all. But it's more because the backup QB is a freshman compared to protecting him for basketball.

Saw they finally posted stats for the game. He completed 33 passes for 230yds
