Absolutely, I don’t think that’s even debatable. So is Watson better than a healthy Baker?

True enough, although I think that game is kind of like the "3 years post-draft 'we coulda had _____ instead of_______!' game". Maybe you can do that with any team and get a bad looking result, too ?This is a team that employs Hunt and employed Malik McDowell, Josh Gordon, Johnny Manziel, Armonte Bryant and Antonio Callaway. I'm not going to expect a higher moral ground.
A Steelers fan wishin' and a-hopin' like 'saders (or whoever it was) saying Manziel needed to play until the end of the season, to be "sure".Why would they trade Baker and draft a QB from this lame class?
That stellar completion percentage dink-n-dunking may have got his last coach dismissed for his conservatism, but I still like the player. Not the price. Not that I think Baker Mayfield will win a Super Bowl but I suspect he will win one before DeShaun Watson does in Cleveland.
This feels like Christmas shopping a few days before Christmas and trying to buy the hot toy for 10 times it's real value.
Yes, DeShaun Watson is a decent QB but is he really the answer for the Browns? I can't remember too many veterans coming to Cleveland that have lived up to the hype. Probably gets suspended for a few games and the Browns might be out of the playoffs before he takes a snap. Don't buy the Cabbage Patch Doll!!
At least I won't have to hear " the Vanilla midget" on CLE sports radio any more. And all the call-in haters with "black-sounding" voices can relax a littleDang, if you cut Baker off at the legs he would only be two foot tall
Good call, in hindsight, considering the "we're in, we're out, we're back in"OK, so if Watson is THAT GOOD, and valuable enough to bring this type of a haul in trade, why are the Texans going to trade him?
And I think he is a very good player.
Also, it's being said by insiders that the Browns are not the front runners for Watson.
So if you don't get Watson and at the same time you've all but told Mayfield, "You're not our guy", where does that leave you?
If Watson doesn't come here, the team is screwed.

Marvin's Bengal teams ? Ravens ?
I just hope he has grown up enough to just do the job and enjoy his contract like a gentleman.
I heard a funny quote today that the AFC North has a little known bylaw requiring at least one sexual predator QB in the division.
"Witty", then ? Clever ? Or is that a "political enough" topic that it's like being "pro-Putin"?Yep, nothing brings out the laughs like sexual predators

Sure, if you like. To me, the connotations carried in the selection of "predator" signal enough virtue, but maybe that's just me.How about " lame"?
how many first round picks have the browns blown on QB;s that busted?Allegations against Watson aside, I'm never a fan of giving up what is being reported as the asking price.
Giving up multiple first round picks is not a good thing.
They have drafted seven:how many first round picks have the browns blown on QB;s that busted?
Baker flirted with it. There was "a Gleam".... He may yet play like a number 1. Somewhere.None of them, sans Kosar, played to the level of the pick used for them.
It was the old "Cleveland Teaser" at work again.Baker flirted with it. There was "a Gleam".... He may yet play like a number 1. Somewhere.
I wouldn't go that far yet, but it surely could end up that way. I could also see him being the first QB that we quit on too early. It was the old "Cleveland Teaser" at work again.
Agree with Weeden being a reach. I would also put Manziel up there also. His game in college would never hold up in the NFL. He could of had the best offense around him and he would still be garbage.Of these Briwns first round qb picks:
* Baker Mayfield (2018); Johnny Manziel (2014); Brandon Weeden (2012); Brady Quinn (2007); Tim Couch (1999); Bernie Kosar (1985 supplemental); Mike Phipps (1970
I always thought the Brandon Weeden pick was the biggest reach. Weeden was the 22nd pick in the 2012 draft and was already 28 years old, just one year younger than 6 year vet Ben Roethlisberger. Never could see what the Browns saw in Weeden. Couch, Bernie & Phipps showed they were 1st rounders. Couch had no help, Bernie was close to getting to a SB and Phipps just ran into the 70’s Steelers, some solid Bengal teams and the Oilers were tough in the early 80’s - just don’t recall any of the Browns teams being able to keep up during those times.
Not until they finally shyt-canned Phipps and turned it over to Brian Sipe. They had the 1972 Dolphins on the ropes in the playoffs, but Phipps threw 5 or 6 picks in the game to allow the old Dolphins to still be popping the champagne corks to this day. And they traded Paul Warfield in his prime to the Dolphins to get the draft rights for Phipps. So Warfield wears three rings…the 1964 Browns and two more from the Dolphins.Of these Briwns first round qb picks:

Phipps had a knack for choking at the worst possible times, as I recall. Not until they finally shyt-canned Phipps and turned it over to Brian Sipe. Brian Sipe was a 12th round draft pick … for most of his first 5 years was considered as nothing more than a backup QB, if that … Phipps was the perceived starter and savior … Sipe only got a chance because Phipps was an epic failure … in fact, he was on the practice squad (or whatever it was called back then) for his first few seasons … most Browns fans didn’t even know who he was … classic rags to riches story.I’ll defer to you guys regarding Phipps, I was too young. Just based on NFL history I knew Phipps seldom/never had the more talented team, the 1970’s was just loaded with dynasties.
I just took a look at Brian Sipe’s career, no one would get a chance to develop in today’s game like he did in the 70’s. I didn’t realize he was with the Browns for 5 years before he became the unquestioned #1 qb. Today’s game, he’s selling insurance or coaching high school football by year 4 because he is out of the league by then.
Super Bowl win? If he wins the season opener he’s golden with most Browns fans.Just read the article in the BJ on Watson's civil case.
I guess you have to say they were trying to smear him because he wasn't indicted but he will be a PR nightmare, his entire career and it remains to be seen whether that affects the performance of him and his team and whether the fans accept him!
Of course a Super Bowl win "might" cure everything?!
If he plays in the season opener, that's gonna be enough.Super Bowl win? If he wins the season opener he’s golden with most Browns fans.
