Peyton Manning out for year w 2nd neck surgery

He'd have a real nice group of wide receivers to throw to if Miami signs Wayne. Wayne and Brandon Marshall on the outside with Davone Bess and Brian Hartline in the slots.

Manning's reps have already been contacted by 12 different teams. Miami & Washington believed to be the frontrunners with Miami having the edge.

First thing I was thinking as I watched the presser is how much of a class act Peyton Manning is. I mean I don't see how anyone can't love this guy.

And I will admit that the presser got to me a little bit. It was just sad to watch how emotional he was. I am a Browns fans first but I do like the Colts. Have since 91 when my friend moved there and we would talk about them. She got me into them when they were 1-15. I remember debating with friends on Manning vs Leaf even though most everyone I talked to about the subject did indeed want Manning.

Sad to see a guy I rooted for since 7th grade leaving the team he carried on his back for his entire career.

Will Tebow fans (one in particular) be up in arms over this?

Per Adam Schefter..."Chiefs and Broncos have spoken to Peyton Manning's reps"

Smart for the Chiefs and Broncos to do so. That division is wide open and what better guy to learn from if you are Tim Tebow?

interesting, considering a report came out today saying manning had no interest in going to the redskins.

I can't imagine he'd go to the same division as Eli.

To add to that, I was also shocked to learn that he'll be visiting with the Cardinals after he finishes meeting with Denver. What's the point in even wasting your time if you have no intention on playing in the NFC? This tells me that it is going to come down to money and supporting cast, with money being a blow out top priority. At the end of the day, I see him and Reggie Wayne going to Miami. Heck, Joseph Addai can join them too. He just got cut today by Indy.

as I understand it he's open to playing in the NFC, but would prefer the AFC.

I think the cards have a legit shot. Even Denver or San Fran.

I'm not convinced he goes to Miami and have to vie for a division dominated by Brady. And I don't think the fact that he has a place in Miami means much. If he goes to Miami, it will be because of the money as I think Stephen Ross is desperate

These would be my leaders:

Cards
49ers
Broncos
Chiefs (have already offered him a contract reportedly)

His main concern is not playing Eli until he has to and the Cardinals play the NFC North next year so they avoid the Giants.

LOL...If Manning doesn't land in Denver, the Browns are going to have to take Weeden at 22, if they want him, because Denver will take him at 25.

It is one thing to replace Tebow with Manning, it is a totally different thing to replace Tebow with Brandon Weeden ... The fans would go crazy!

Sounds like "Manning to Miami" is out and they will now turn their attention to Matt Flynn. Arizona & Denver likely finalists.
