Ohio State Football 2024

He’s on the hot seat. Another loss to Michigan followed by an early playoff defeat would make Day’s seat very hot with a new AD. The Buckeyes are loaded this year. Expectations will rightly be sky high. Day has to beat Michigan.
If you’re on the hot seat that means if you don’t reach goals that are set then you are fired. He isn’t getting fired

I don't agree with you, though there could be conditions imposed that would allow him to keep his job...such as when Michigan made Harbaugh take a large salary cut or adios. He took the cut, got to work and started hitting the goals...now he's back in charge and where he wants to be.

Even though Bjork is not officially on the job, it is my opinion his hand was on the Holtmann firing, which in turn was a not so subtle message to Ryan Day. Just making the expanded playoffs in 2024 may not save his job. Bjork's hiring signals a more of an SEC approach to winning than we have seen under Gene Smith.

JL was offered a job by Missouri after the Cotton bowl. I’m not sure if it was an on field assistant position or not.

Have to agree to disagree. Ohio St athletic department doesn’t have the money to write all those checks. The only way he is fired is a booster(s) paying the buyout

I wouldn't advise Day to do it the Harbaugh way.

Day and Holtmann not even close to the same level … Holtmann was fired because the Buckeyes are not even close to winning anything … Day has only lost two the last to the last two National Champions by 1 and 6 … hardly the same as Holtmann … they are 4-10 in the B10 and have lost 9 of the last 11 … only above UM in the conference.

They've spent money out their rear end this off-season to help Ryan Day be successful leading the football program.

A lot of things would have to go wrong this year for him to be fired, forced into a restructured contract, etc.

He isn't getting canned this year unless the wheels fall off the wagon entirely and they go like 8-4, which isn't happening.

Depending on the wording of the contract, a buyout may be lump sum or a structured deferred installment payment. For OSU, likely lump sum, with a booster footing the bill. In private business, I have seen buyout protection insurance for the employer, just to mitigate risk.

I’m talking strictly about the people they brought in. Yes, getting rid of Parker Fleming was a good move but they didn’t replace him with a big name assistant.
If OSU is no worse off, but they should be better because there is no where to go but up, they don't need a big name assistant. Anything that AOSU does to improve themselves is a very good move.

I wouldn't advise Day to do it the Harbaugh way.

Why not? He builds cultures

You're the one with a weird obsession with Conor Stalions.

Ohio State requires to regain being tough, hard-nosed and take pride in the Program Instead of focusing on potential Sundays. Even Herbstreit stated the fundamental difference between the two. And that's one of your own

Harbaugh took a major pay cut just to keep his job after 2020. And then Conor Stalions hit the scene and Michigan's fortunes magically improved to a point never seen before. I don't believe in coincidence. You apparently do. Or you prefer to not believe the obvious.

Before I elaborate, didn't O$U go from 6-7 to 12-0?

Wasn't OSU under NCAA investigation. Didn't OSU go 6-7 under interim coach after the Head Coach was forced to leave. OSU went 12-0 with a new high profile head coach. OSU was banned to play in a bowl game or the Big 10 championship. Going 12-0 didn't gain them a thing and they didn't cheat another team out of anything.

Washington went from 4-8(and lost to Montana) to 11-2 then playing for National Title. Did they have a Stalions type?

Your alibi is "cheating" Teams have to execute. UM did and O$U didn't. You even lost to a substitute teacher. Less focus on an archaic rule and one Stalions may not have violated

How good was College football this past year? Didn't Washington bring in a transfer QB? How good was the PAC? A lame duck conference. How good was Texas playing in a sinking BIG 12? Two top schools leaving for the SEC. Easiest path to the NATTY since the 4 team playoffs started playing. You can't deny the correlation between Michigan's turnaround and the appearance of Stalions on Michigan's sideline. Why did Michigan fire the linebacker coach in the middle of an undefeated season?

Cripe almighty like the BIG was all that and a bag of chips. They, being PAC could say the same regarding O$U. Lost last 2 by playing tougher UM then losing to fricking Mizzou. And UM with substitute teacher.

Patridge was fired because he didn't abide by a policy. Minter took over Linebackers and it worked out well.

Allow due process to take place. And try to get better. As a neutral fan I saw post stating OSU complaing about UM is like Charlie Sheen telling Johnny Depp is having sex with crazy chicks

Patridge lied to the NCAA and hid evidence pertinent to the cheating scandal. Losing to Mizzou was the best thing to happen to OSU. How do you like us now? Yes, please allow due process to take place. Stay tuned!

They have to play there. They just started demolition of Ryan Field.
Well, they have to play somewhere else for sure. As of 2 weeks ago, they were still nailing down specifics for 2024. LIkely splitting time between Soldier FIeld, Wrigley, and Guaranteed Rate Field. Their AD has also reportedly told donors that they will play a home game at Lambeau this season as well - likely against the Badgers.

tOSU adds former Michigan State and Seattle Seahawks coach Brandon Jordan to the staff as a defensive assistant. No details on the official role (i.e., analyst, quality control, etc.), but is not counted against the 10 allowable position coaches. He was a pass-rush specialist in Seattle, and reportedly a successful recruiter with the Spartans. Before that, he ran "Brandon Jordan Trench Performance", working with several NFL Pro Bowl players like, former Buckeye, Cameron Hayward.
