What are the full contact scrimmages looking like?

Struthers has West Branch and Canfield.
Hubbard has East and not sure of the other.
I know Poland has had Kirtland not sure if that is continuing.

Anyone else?

Coaching plays a big part here too. I fully expect to see some players move to the line and also some play both ways. The guards are so important in that offense and they need to be athletic. Guard play the past few years has been very good and not always bigger players.
I also think the weightroom work the past couple months is a big indicator of success in the fall.

Hubbard normally has been scrimmaging Brookfield, but they play each other this year
 
Don't know the reason NE8 schools don't like playing local schools that could be competitive
NE8 scheduled the following local "big" schools
Howland 3 NE8 games
Chaney 1 NE8
Canfield 1 NE8
Ursuline -0
Mooney-0
Boardman-0
WB- 1 game
Fitch-0
Harding -0
But you see schools from PA, Cleveland, Akron and smaller local schools on the schedule that nobody cares about.

Mooney or Ursuline won’t be scheduled most teams would take a bye. Fitch makes no sense

Akron has a beautiful 30K seat stadium that only averages 3K fans per game, in other words, the Akron football team plays in front of 27K empty seats per game. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, they still play their games on Thursday nights. I have a brother in law that got his masters from Akron and he and a buddy of his went to a Akron football game just this last season, he said it was not only sad but laughable at the same time.

They are not a football school, their success has always been in basketball and soccer (which they won a national championship a few years ago).

I wish the young man success at Akron.

South Range, D5, played D2 Green last year who played in their regional final. They'll play Barberton (D2?) this year. I don't think a game against Fitch or Ursuline makes sense, but I don't think they'd 'duck' anybody else locally. I can think of one deal that fell through recently, but I think the weeks available limit options in many cases.

I think Wilmington passed on the Struthers game. I am not too sure if the Hubbard game is still on though.

I say ...... go for it.
They start with Lakeview and Niles, why not add a 3-pack by scheduling Struthers.
And seeing as we already have five home games, I reckon we could gas up the buses for an hour+ trip to Cleveland.
If we don't act quickly, even this option will be gone with the wind.

I fail to see the need for 10 games anymore with schools. Struthers made a regional run, and will likely make another playoff appearance with an opportunity to win more games. These kids will get plenty of opportunities. We are all guilty of griping about the OHSAA and their desire for an earlier start and more playoff games, but schools can control that. Don't schedule week 1 or 2 games anymore if the start is too early. There is no penalty imposed by the OHSAA for only playing 8 or 9 games. In many cases, there is an advantage with the lower divisor used to calculate Harbins Points.

Their once in a generation Mr. Everything being gone may have something to do about that. The coach shouldn't have any issues because he okayed his Quakers coming to Struthers a few years ago. How bare the cupboard is may also factor in.

But you're right, this game should happen.
Again, lollygagging gets you nowhere.

Should already have next year lined up, but highly doubtful. 😔
