NE8 2024

What has Lakeview done? Last I checked they are still at the bottom of the NE8. Poland has gone to the playoffs three straight years. Might simply be a talent gap between the schools. And that is not a knock on Lakeview- they just haven't had the players to compete.
When healthy they lost to SR by 7 last year, seems to be heading in the right direction, should be better then half the league honestly it’s gonna be a down year and probably top heavy

Lakeview is getting better. They are gonna give teams fits. I’m gonna say they are the better dogs this year and formally thank Pav for leaving.

Lakeview is definitely better than Niles, most likely better than Girard and Hubbard and probably better than Poland. They are still behind SR and Struthers. Two key factors for them are staying healthy and can the lines hold up to the physicality of the big boys.

Anyone see Poland scrimmage yet

I heard that they played pretty well against both teams. Poland fans stated that Streetsboro is a real good team while they thought Harvey was ok. They also stated that they were the best team there. Also, they stated that they contained Harvey's Penn State recruit pretty well. Poland believes that they have a pretty good defense this year and are still working things out on offense.

Let's see what they say after travelling to Kirtland this afternoon.

It’s an open secret what they’re doing at the moment. Ask Canfield.

They have a great system. Have had a great system. Will continue to have a great system. And now they are supremely confident since no one has been able to beat them when they expected to get beat up a little bit when they joined the conference. Kinda crazy their only conference loss is to Niles and they have played Struthers close only twice I believe.
South Range kids start young. They play a challenging schedule made up of teams from Northeast Ohio. Many play flag ball as youngsters. Coaching is consistent, one coach, who stepped away only recently, coached more years than Yeagley. These same coaches teach offense and defense that is modeled after the highschool program. By junior high they know the system. They also stress the success of the overall program and the effort required to maintain it. In the end, no group or class wants to be the one that fails to represent Raider Football.

EastPanthers have some athlete's, but there so poorly coached and undisciplined it sickening. I thought they got better coaching a couple of years back?

I was at the scrimmage until late 1st quarter when it was 22-0. East 3 possessions. 3 Turnovers. Hubbard scored on short fields. By far Hubbbard best player is the QB. Good wheels, runs hard and was accurate. However Hubbards lines were not impressive. East lines were..., let's just say ' a work in progress' And I'm willing to bet the lines were either a stalemate or a slight advantage to East. Hubbard couldn't run the ball up the middle. All yards were through the air or on the perimeter. East yards were between the tackles. Several fumbles negated first downs for East
Also Hubbard will struggle with the kicking game. Kickoff went to the 25 yard line and the extra point attempt wasn't close.
Hubbard vs Brookfield will NOT be a blowout

I watched some film on the game and everything you said is just plain wrong. Hubbard got some help on the fumbles but the defense is excellent. Inside Linebacker room could be the weak point this year but i’m sure they’ll get there. The oline returns 1 starter and a rotator from last year so i’m sure that they won’t be exceptional in the second scrimmage. I also heard from a friend who was there that the line was missing two of their starters, and the “kicker” was their running back lol… So the kicking game will definitely not be a struggle as they didn’t even have a kicker there yesterday. Secondary looked great as did the receivers and backs.

Scrimmages always have differing opinions, just tune ups for week 1. It’s here!

West Branch 31, South Range 14 in game-like conditions. West Branch looked razor sharp as talented quarterback Jeremiah Thomas threw for over 200 yards and a touchdown. West Branch scored on five of its six possessions.
West Brach should be the real-deal this year it seems with just about all starters returning. I really hope they challenge for their region; wouldn’t that be awesome!

Hubbard is a work in progress but has potential. Good size. Return 6 starters on each side from last year. They're expecting big things out of Ljs cousin on both sides of the ball this year. 6'6 300lb sophomore. The QB will be the offensive leader both running and throwing. He missed some throws against mineral ridge that would have been touchdowns. Also still missing that true every down running back since TC left.
