Ryan fields came in with the same hype and had a good career, but never reached the top. He did wrestle all four years in D1 though.

Do you know just how hard it is to win a state wrestling title in Ohio? Hype has nothing to do with it. There are so many variables that go into winning just ONE it is unbelievable to fathom. To say a kid who placed 2nd in state 3 times did not live up to the"hype" is absurd. I'd call that way more then just a "good" career as you did.

Absolutely correct...

Agree!!! I think of Derek Foore losing in the finals 3 years in a row to Sean Nemec. How is Derek doing these days? Check him out at Notre Dame college. Only wish to see him at D-I. Well done young man.

Just defending my son from an idiotic post,Willie was and is great and did great things back then but there have been others particularly one who has done more things than even he managed at a higher weight coming in and there will be another to do the same even at a much higher weight, blast all you want take it for what it is because everyone has their favs and facts are facts a great jr high run 1 questionable loss at state to a returning champ and runner up three cadet AA s and two yrs in a row nationally ranked should earn someone enough respect not to get cheap shoted on by some @$$ hole on a message board and for people to defend him not attack and compare him to guys from ages long past,I like Heitag and Johnsons accomplishments myself Fields was very good but i do not know what he did outside of OH and did not have a comparable record entering high School,And D 1 2 or 3 if your a state champ and pull your own weight across the nation i doubrt it matters how small your school is,thats funny
Regardless the best evers time is just around the corner and he aint no light weight ,mark it down.

You got that right, undefeated National Champ season last year.

What a surprise!! Another thread turned to Stephen Myers happy hour. It is getting kind of old.

Correction. It is LCast happy hour. Stephen has better things to do than beat his own chest. Shouldn't that stuff be relegated to the CHL thread? Yes it is getting old. Great day of wrestling down in Cincinnati. The young Moeller wrestlers did not back down against the Grizzlies. These teams will see each other again at State Duals where the Wadsworth lineup will look different. I don't expect the score to be as close.

You're right. It's edited.

Moellers line-up will look a bit different too with Dawson and most likely Walsh in at 112. Ward will drop to 125 i dont know if Squire will choose to drop or not. I think it depends on if Grey can make 119 or if hes wants to bump up to 130. I know Wadsworth 135 pounder was out but they got the pin there anyway and I think their 160? I still expect it to be a pretty close dual with Wadsworth winning.

I was lucky enough to sit around 4 kids from the {real deal} '05-'7 squad. Couple have been exercising with the kids, I can't help passing off their enthusiasm in this team. I mean these dudes qualified 11 to the show one year, and they think Gaier & Co. now have the best team yet. Jamison, Spears, all the rest have this passion and talent to get the best out of these kids.

Great warm up, next week is a BIG deal.

The 00 team was the "real deal" Don, come on now. :thumb: I was at the duals and I have to say that Moeller team looks darn good. I dont see any holes in the line-up.

Sorry my first posts were harmless factual statements that actually took up for some kids who get put under the microscope and blasted early unfairly,my other comments came after the haters chimed in trust me i will leave each to their own and each to their own fate .

Moeller's team is good but still young. Wadsworth's 160 was 5th at State at 160 and Bucksman's #3 at 160 this preseason. The pin for Moeller at 160 would be a decision or better for Wadsworth thus a 9+ point swing. I am not sure how the Wadsworth Moeller match started out but my guess is that by the time 119 bout was to begin Wadsworth had the match wrapped up and coach G replaced Warstler with Zollinger. Irregardless in a dual both coaches will jostle their line up that will give them the best shot at winning by key matches, preventing and obtaining bonus points. A healthy Wadsworth team verses a healthy Moeller team I see Wadsworth winning by a little more that the 31-24 score due mainly to Moeller's youth. Next year Moeller should be top 3.
