Big difference between what makes a good college QB and a good HS QB. TSC is a pro style QB, Knouf can run or throw, I believe Knouff had 520 yds. rushing and passing combined vs Coldwater and Minster. I will take TSC at OSU I will take Knouff at the HS level.
I will say I would love to see what Goodwin would have done with TSC. Reverse the rolls and I bet there would be a TSC statue in front of Booster Field forever.

He made a throw against cW in the start of the 2nd half that was as good as you will see in HS

lighten up francis... it wasn't a shot at your QB.... just having a little fun with Tvoice...

Was at that game last year, sat on the Bellefontaine side and just watched him warm up right in front of me. He makes everything look so effortless it is incredible. Have never seen a High School athlete like that before.
the boy is ranked in some circles..as the Number ONE QB in the nation... and I think in Rivals as the Number one recruit in the nation....

This is Ohio when the weather turns bad rainy, windy, like when the remnants of helene came through I will go with running QB at the H.S. level.

I don't disagree, just that I think if TSC came up in Goodwins system he would be more of a runner on top of his insane arm talent. It doesn't matter because it didn't happen, but still fun to think about the what ifs. Knouff is absolutely incredible.

his stats going into his senior year.. 31 starts, 8,158 yards passing
75 passing TD's... 18 Interceptions

my understanding that his brother who is a freshman.....has the same type of talent....

i wish that the OHssa would NOT have put all games on Friday...BellFON taine.. plays CJ in the first round

Ahh fair enough. But ya he would flick that wrist and the ball jumped off his hand. Never seen effortless velocity, with crazy accuracy on those deep balls. And I agree he definitely does not run it like Knouff, not many do. Just thought it would be interesting to have seen him in Goodwins system, since it was brought up. Plenty of credit to go around for all the good QB's around.

Assuming you attended the ML - M game a few weeks back, who in your opinion was the best offensive player on the field?

This should give you you're answer for who OPOY should be.
I thought Stephy was that night, Knouf ran the ball well, But i think he had a OFF night throwing the ball.

so not to be sensitive, but you would take Knouf over TSC as the qb for Steiners?
I've seen both multiple times...matter of fact 3 games TSC lost...

Unless he would be a type.of runner, and blocker...that Knouf...yes...I'd take Knouf.

Who knows...if TSC was in MSML offense and and would run it and be that.type of steiner.qb..maybe he would

But...from the games...Knouf does what a HS QB on title.teams do.......

yes, but Knouf has a MUCH better team around him.... but for him to throw 75 TD's and over 8,000 yards going into his Senior year.... will be Mr Football... and i have seen him play also, he would start at Minster, Coldwater, and Marion Local if he were in their programs. I would think that Whiting, Otten, and Goodwin .. would jump at a chance to coach him.

It would be mind blowing to think of Goodwin coaching TSC as QB with Hoelscher, Pohlman, and Knouf as recievers.
Although not as good, Goodwin did have a 4star recruit at QB who went to PITT. Pretty sure that is when he transitioned the offense from I-formation to mix of I and Spread

He was Hurt VS CW I believe and they still put up 40 plus.

Believe he didn't last long at Pitt and transfered to a small.college.

But I digress

I agree it was an off night passing, but he ran for 170 and 2 TDS, made the big plays when the team needed it.

Obviously it comes down to personal opinion and others felt the same way as you, thus why he was voted OPOY.

Minster may not have the best defensive stats there, but going back to the start of the 2023 playoffs, they are the best defense Marion Local has played, in my opinion. The Minster offense has been able to move the ball on the Marion D, probably better than anyone. They just need to find a way to score (easier said than done against the Marion D).

Minster can't run the football get inside the red zone need to be able to run the football. ML gets inside the 10 yd. line the Flyers go I formation or run Knouff. On defense Minster plays their safeties back to prevent big plays but can't stop the run (Flyers rushed for 360 yds. vs Minster). As long as Knouff is healthy the Flyers will not lose IMO.

Edit: When playing ML it is pick your poison, stop the run or stop the pass difficult to do both (less your Kirtland). ML never punted vs Minster, one thing Minster did well was eat clock with a short passing game and let the play clock burn down before snapping the ball. But Minster needs to finish drives something difficult to do when a team does not have a power running game.

ML maybe should have stuck with the run more in the first half in week 9 and perhaps be up 21-0 at half instead of 14-0. Can't remember if it was 7-0 or 14-0, when Knouff threw that deep ball that was picked off at the goal line. The running game was working well. In hindsight, maybe you just keep running it at that point.
