Moeller 49, Stivers 38
In their second game of the season, Moeller found themselves facing a difficult challenge from a Stivers team that finished last season just 8-16. The Crusaders (2-0) trailed by five at halftime, but they managed to adjust and dominate the third and fourth quarters to beat the Tigers (0-1) by double digits. Alex Kazanecki again led the scoring for Moeller with 15, adding 6 rebounds and 4 steals, but also turned the ball over six times. Moeller senior forward Brady Franz matched his career-high (set last Saturday) with 13 points. Stivers' star of the game was senior guard Gavin Wright, who recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Beavercreek 69, Hamilton 54
Looking to bounce back from a double-digit season-opening loss to Aiken, Beavercreek (1-1) did just that, pulling away in the second half to take down Hamilton (0-1). Isaiah-Michael Williams, the 2023 GWOC Player of the Year, posted his second straight 20-burger to open the season, scoring 23 points on 11-of-12 shooting. He was joined by three teammates in double figures: Kaden Ellerbe, Kaleb Bryant, and Owen Roether. The Beavers were also a very solid 14-of-20 from the free throw line. Hamilton was led by forward Peyton Davis, who scored 12 points, while freshman Jordon Johnson also reached double figures in his first career game.

Lebanon 51, Miamisburg 50
Freshman Jashawn Coffey was swarmed by his teammates Tuesday night after hitting two clutch free throws to lift Lebanon (1-0) to an upset victory over Miamisburg (1-1). Coffey, ranked by some outlets as a top-50 national prospect in the class of 2028, scored 29 points in his varsity debut and filled the shoes left by Anthony Thompson's transfer admirably, coming one point shy of Thompson's Lebanon career-high of 30. His performance helped overcome a big rebounding advantage for Miamisburg, who won the glass 33-21, mainly courtesy of 6'9" senior center Andrew Hoerner, who pulled down 19 rebounds (8 offensive) to go along with his 23 points in the loss.

Springfield Catholic Central 70, Northeastern 63
The Irish (0-1)went on the road for their first OHC league game of the season. Northeastern (0-1) coming off a bad loss to Dixie on the road. This game became a classic battle of Irish size against the Jets quickness. It became apparent the Irish attack was going to be inside out and the Jets wanted to press force turnovers and get the ball down the floor quickly. This got them an early lead. But the Irish settled in made a few threes and lead at the end of the first quarter. But Central never could put NE away. Brett Lough was a big part of the reason for that as he had 16 of the Jets 34 at half while the Irish lead by five. The second half the Irish put some distance between the teams, they held Lough to only 4 in the entire second half and cut down the turnovers. Zac Thompson lead the Irish with 15 points and several blocks.

Milford 73, Goshen 65 (OT)
In a hotly contested battle between a young Milford squad and a Goshen team looking to bounce back from a season-opening loss to Lakota East, it was the Eagles who pulled out an overtime thriller, 73-65. Milford (1-0) was led by Loveland transfer forward Avery Pence, who came off the bench to post 20 points and 9 rebounds (both career-highs) and hit the game-tying 3 with seven seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. Milford would then shut Goshen out for the first 3 minutes of the overtime period. Milford's top returning scorer Sloan Gormley added 19 and Deer Park transfer Cam Arington scored 17 for the Eagles. St. Xavier 64, Mason 29
The St. Xavier Bombers, fresh off a 2-0 start to the season over the weekend, continued to look like a buzzsaw as they handily defeated Mason, 64-29, on Tuesday night. The Bombers (3-0) have not given up 40 points to any of their three opponents so far, and Mason (0-2) only reached double digit scoring in one quarter. St. X dominated Mason on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 30-12. Donovan Waleskowski continued his hot start to the season for the Bombers with 23 points and another five three-pointers sunk. Princeton 53, Newport 44
The Newport Wildcats traveled across the river to Viking Arena to take on Princeton in the latter's season opener and left with a 53-44 loss that wasn't as close as the score indicated. The Vikings (1-0) led by 17 at the half, courtesy of a 19-4 second quarter thrashing, which Newport (1-1) was simply unable to recover from. Princeton celebrated the return of seniors Cliff Cass and Kieran Granville-Britten from season-long injuries in 23-24, and they produced a combined 25 points and were the two leading scorers, with Granville-Britten also collecting 9 rebounds. James Turner and Andonaje Lowe both reached double figures for Newport, who only had 1 bench point in the loss.

Elder 46, Turpin 37
Elder received a much-needed boost to their lineup coming off a 20-point loss to Northridge in the form of star Cam Williams returning from a foot injury. Despite this, Elder's offense remained stuck in mud for much of their second game against the Turpin Spartans, who rattled off a 14-0 run in the second quarter and threatened to run away with it. However, Williams showed off his talent with a 9-0 personal run spanning the 3rd and 4th quarters that gave Elder (1-1) the lead for good over the Spartans (0-1). Williams scored 15 points in total alongside 4 steals, but teammate Alex Dugan was perhaps even better, finishing with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Senior guard Dylan Palicki chipped in a career-high 10 points for the Panthers.

The win was a monumental one for Elder HC Joe Schoenfeld, as he secured his 500th career victory having coached the Panthers for over 30 years.

A BIG night from Adrian Benton helped propel the Finneytown Wildcats over Lockland last night! Benton scored 24 pts (was 4-8 from 3pt) and Brandon Wise chipped in w/14 pts in the victory. Benton and Wise have combined for 62pts in the Wildcats first 2 games of the season. Hamilton 68, Colerain 26
Colerain has only won 12 games since the start of the 2019-20 season, and that trend looks pretty likely to continue this year, as in their opener they were trounced by the Hamilton Big Blue, 68-26. Hamilton (1-1) led 49-9 at halftime before letting off the gas somewhat in the second half. No Hamilton player played more than 17 minutes in the matchup. The Big Blue were led by Jordon Johnson, who scored 13 points and added 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 16 minutes on the court. Hamilton sophomore guard Knox Mills nailed three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points on the night. Junior forward Phil Emery led the Cardinals in scoring with nine points.

12/6
Fairfield 53, Oak Hills 51 (OT)
At the beginning of this one, it looked like Fairfield was going to run away with the win to advance to an easy 2-0, as they were up 28-15 at half and 39-30 at the end of 3. The Highlanders, though, went on an 11-2 run to open the fourth quarter and tied it at 41. A clutch three from Fairfield's Michael Lewis tied the game at 47 with a minute left, and that's where the score would stay heading into overtime. It was still tied, 51-51, with 1:45 left in OT, and neither team would hit a shot for the next 1:44. With time winding down, Lewis bounce passed it inside to big man Gabe Clemmons, who hit the game-winning hook shot as time expired to give the Indians (2-0) the 53-51 victory over the Highlanders (1-1).

Lewis finished the game with 20 points, including going 4-5 from beyond the arc and 4-6 from the free throw line. Clemmons had 10, plus nine rebounds. Senior Daviawne Crim added 12 points for Fairfield plus five boards. Seniors Henry Maginn and Nate Riep combined for 35 of Oak Hills' 51 points as well as 16 rebounds.

Lakota West 57, Middletown 52
In a hotly-contested GMC clash, it was the Lakota West Firebirds (2-0) who grinded out a hard-earned victory over Middletown (1-2). The Firebirds took a double-digit lead at the end of one, but Middletown responded with a 13-4 run out of the locker room to take the lead. A defensive switchup by the Firebirds had some success as they led 47-45 entering the 4th. Here, sophomores Bryce Curry and Josh Tyson were able to hit the clutch shots needed for the Firebirds to secure the win, 57-52.

Curry and Tyson combined for 36 total points and hit all 4 of the shots they attempted from beyond the arc. Senior LJ Green led Lakota West in rebounds with five. Middletown's Jeremiah Landers continued his hot start to the season with 24 points and 6 assists.

West Clermont 73, Loveland 65
In an ECC offensive slugfest (perhaps unexpectedly so), West Clermont (2-0) emerged victorious over Loveland (1-1), 73-65. The two teams were very evenly matched through three quarters, with West Clermont up by a score of 57-56 entering the 4th, but the Wolves pulled away early in the quarter and held on to win by eight. Carson Duke, an Elder transfer in his second season with the Wolves, posted 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting. Rayshawn Hubbard added 19 with three steals and Withrow transfer Jyaiire Harper scored 17 on 7-of-8 shooting. Loveland was led by junior Chase Martin and senior Will Bertoli, who scored 19 and 17 respectively (a career high for the latter).

12/6
Princeton 74, Mason 51
This GMC matchup was a battle of two teams going in opposite directions, and it stayed that way as Princeton (2-0) beat up a struggling Mason (0-3). Princeton dominated from the jump, leading 44-19 at the half before letting off the gas out of the locker room. Three of Princeton's starters scored in double figures: senior Cliff Cass (19) and juniors Rognny Santiago Lugo (17) and Sebastian Jordan Ramos (14). Western Hills 66, Elder 60
After regaining their footing last Tuesday with their win over Turpin, the Elder Panthers (1-2) suffered another setback at the hands of Western Hills (1-0). West High took a 4-point lead at the end of the first quarter and held that lead throughout the whole game, as Elder did not outscore the Mustangs in any of the four quarters. The Panthers did cut it to 62-60 with 20 seconds left, but West High made the shots they needed to emerge with a victory. Western Hills was led by seniors Seydou Keita and Nic Wogenstahl who combined for 41 points. Elder had three players reach double figures in the loss: Alex Dugan (16), Cam Williams (15), and Kaden Estep (11).

Springfield Catholic Central 58. Greenon 43
The second OHC league for these teams tipped in the Jason Collier gym in Springfield. The Irish came in 1-1,1-0 and the Knights were 0-2,0-1. But the Knights came in from the cold with some hot three pt.shooting in the first period to take a 15-8 lead Twelve of those points were from long range while all the Irish points were from in the lane and this was a pattern for the rest of the game. Greenon managed to keep the lead for quite a while but the Irish kept chipping away. Central finally got a lead of one point with 3 minutes left in the third quarter and the teams exchanged leads for several possessions. The difference came with 5 minutes left Greenon tried a 1-3-1 zone to take away the Irish inside game but Bradley Little hit a three from each wing on consecutive possessions and a close game suddenly had a real gap with time running out. Like the last Irish game where Irish size inside made the difference that was the case again. Zac Thompson 6-5 post for Central had 15 points,6 boards and 4 blocks. Guards Little had 15 and several steals and Owen Young 14 with a strong defensive effort. Grady Bowman Greenon’s do everything senior led all scorers with 17.

12/6
Lakota East 60, Sycamore 46
Game two for Trey Perry's senior season was even better than game one, as he had a dominant day to lead Lakota East (2-0) to a comfortable win over Sycamore (0-2). The Thunderhawks led by 20 points at the half before letting off the gas somewhat out of the locker room. Perry, a Miami (OH) commit, scored 30 points in the win, his sixth career 30-point game, and also collected six rebounds. Senior Michael Akindele, a Lakota West transfer, continued his emergence as East's secondary scoring threat by adding ten points. Sycamore was led by senior guard Tariq Kimbrough, who hit six three-pointers in the loss.

12/6
Kings 73, Milford 45
In their season opener, the Kings Knights hosted an upstart Milford team who had some momentum following a win over Goshen. That momentum was quickly extinguished as Kings (1-0) outplayed the Eagles (1-1) in every facet and left with a dominant win. Kings scored at least 17 points in every quarter while also holding Milford under 13 in every frame, so it was a start-to-finish victory for the Knights. Bellarmine commit Tommy Clark was (as expected) the star of the show for Kings, collecting 17 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals. Three other Knights also reached double figures: Myles Baker (16), Nate Lyman (10) and Wyatt Kroll (10). Milford's leading scorers were senior Sloan Gormley and junior Avery Pence with ten each.

Wayne 61, Hamilton 47
Coming off a big conference win over Colerain yesterday, the Hamilton Big Blue traveled to Huber Heights to take on their second GWOC opponent of the season in the Wayne Warriors. Hamilton started hot with a 13-5 run to open the game, but Wayne punched back with a dominant second quarter in which they outscored the Big Blue 17-3. Wayne (2-0) eventually pulled away in the fourth quarter to take home a 61-47 victory over Hamilton (1-2). Wayne was led by senior guard Jay'Sean Price, who did most of his damage inside the arc, and ended up with 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting to go alongside 5 steals. Senior Miles Perkins (13) and junior Isaiah Thompson (10) also reached double figures for the Warriors. Hamilton had two players in double figures: senior Peyton Davis (11) and junior Austin Paige (10), but the team's leading scorer, freshman Jordon Johnson, did not make a single field goal in the loss.

The Cowboys lead by 5 at the break (21-16) . Taylor 51 Deer park 40 12-7-25

The Yellow Jackets traveled to Deer Park to kick off the 2025/25 season! From the opening tip , Taylor controlled the offensive side of the ball. Taylor built a big Double digit lead (30-13 at half) that proved to be too much of a hole for the Wildcats to climb out of. Deer park did out score the jackets in the 2nd half (27-21) but it wasn'd enough as the jackets came away with the W. Leading Deer park in scoring was Antonio White w/15pts.
The yellow jackets were lead by Junior PG AJ Dean who scored 24pts. Noah Wentz added 13 for the Jackets. Taylor will be back in action Wednesday as they host Wyoming and Deer Park will travel to Indian Hill!

In their second matchup against the GCL South this year, Chaminade Julienne led for a majority of the game but was ultimately overwhelmed by St. Xavier, 38-32. The Bombers (4-0) enjoyed a strong second half and a 33-22 rebounding advantage over the Eagles (1-3), including 14 boards from Bomber big man Jacob Wassler. Senior guard Brendan Deeley posted his second career 10-point game, while junior forward Jack Ryan came off the bench to score a career-high nine for St. X. Winton Woods 68, Walnut Hills 33
Walnut Hills entered their home opener looking to make a statement after their poor 6-17 season last year. They did make a statement... for the other team, as a Winton Woods (1-0) team who had retooled with several high-end transfers overwhelmed the Eagles (0-1), 68-33. It was domination from start to finish for the Warriors, as they got out to a 23-4 lead before the first quarter was even over. Christian Wilkins, an out-of-state transfer, scored 16 points for Winton Woods, while junior guard Nate Dawson added 12. Walnut was led by junior Landen McDaniel with 8 points, while classmate Charlie Stoffregen scored six with five rebounds.

Turpin 50, Lebanon 46
The Turpin Spartans entered Friday night's home game looking to bounce back against a Lebanon squad who had put the league on notice in their season opener. Lebanon roared out to a 19-10 lead through one quarter, but Turpin went on a 10-0 run in the first half of the second quarter to erase it. Turpin took a 2-point lead entering the 4th and never trailed in the quarter as they played stout defense throughout and held on to win, 50-46. Seniors Isaac Hooper and Joe Lafkas scored ten points each for Turpin (1-1), while Shea O'Toole collected five rebounds and three steals.
