It's close. Statistically, this was his first great season in the NFL, IMO. However, having two rings essentially puts him there, especially because he won the MVP in both games.

Gun to my head, I say yes.

Based on who they have already put in the HOF? Yes. No doubt he will be enshrined in Canton. His stats, for example, are better than Elway's. The New York City factor is especially powerful.

I agree with you recently. Not only does he have two rings, he was MVP in both of the Super Bowls and Oh, did I mention that he is a "Manning"? Their going to have to induct the whole darn family in just for being who they are.

I don't think it's the two rings specifically that have him there. Big Ben has two rings and isn't a HOF'er yet IMO, and Brady certainly wasn't after his second ring.

Big Ben is a sure-thing HOF'er, even with the rape allegations. He's played 8 years with great stats and two rings. Even two more mediocre years won't keep him out.

But neither Big Ben or Brady has the memorable highlights like the "helmet catch" in the Super Bowl either. That goes down with the famous "Immaculate Reception".

Not so sure about that, at this point. They won one ring in SPITE of Roethlisberger while both of Manning's SB victories have been clutch. Randle El was a better QB than Roethlisberger in that first SB.

I'm not comparing him to Manning. I'm just looking at the body of his work, and the success of his team. At this point, Big Ben would have to have a slew of crappy seasons to off-set what he's already accomplished. I don't see that happening, as the Steelers are a great organization. Probably the best in the NFL.

The helmet catch itself has nothing to do with Eli. Now the throw and the ability to not go down when hit was amazing and all Eli. But the catch itself will always be Tyree's thing.

The last drive of the Arizona game might be enough to get Big Ben in.

Im sure he will too but if he was to retire today do you think he still would?

Not sure if he'd be a first ballot HOFer but I think he'd eventually make it.

I know it was a different time but Joe Namath's career stats were PUTRID (173 TD's, 220 INT's), he won a ring, and he got in.

The pre-1978 QB numbers were all much worse than the post-1978 QB's. Namath cracked the 4,000 yard in one season mark...in a 14 game season, too...back when the rules were heavily skewed against the passing game. Under pre-1978 rules, today's QB and receiver numbers would be similar to the numbers of the pre-1978 players.

The Rooney family runs a great organization. I'd put them toward the top, certainly with Robert Kraft.

Yes, the difference is that the Steelers have a great organization. Kraft success is solely due to Bill Belichick. Pioli, Crennel, Mangini, Weis...they come and go, and none of them accomplish shyt without Belichick. He runs the show in NE.

When Belichick leaves I'm sure Kraft will hire someone who will win. You don't win three rings by not being a good owner.

Steelers are without a doubt the best organization in the NFL. They've been SB contenders throughout pretty much their entire history.

The Steelers have made three great hires since 1968...Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher, Mike Tomlin. Kraft has hired Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick, so his track record is pretty darn good. Belichick is such a micro-manager, though, he might not leave the team in a condition to win for a coach other than himself. We will see in time, though.

Wrong. Maybe since 1975 but they were the armpit of football before that.

What? Check out their record since the AFL-NFL merger...the 1970 season until now. No team has won more divisions titles, conference titles, made more playoff appearences or won more Super Bowls.
