Hopefully IV can schedule a big game in their open weeks. They’re gonna have everyone in the areas attention.
It looks like IV , barring significant injuries could be even better. Ridgewood and Garaway also better. Ridgewood qb will make an impact.IV gonna be really good. IMO Garaway will be better next year than this year. Bring back a TON
Starting girls soccer has done exceptional damage to a once great volleyball program as well. The fact is that if you try and give so many choices, none will have the chance to be exceptional.TV started soccer when they were in the PAC-7 and everyone in the league had soccer. They also had about 130 kids in a graduating class and now they are down to around 100 in a graduating class. If you assume half are boys that means you've lost 15 boys per grade level which means you've lost 60 boys in your high school since soccer started.
TV usually has 2-3 "Tusky Valley" kids who are hard core soccer players. Then there are usually 2-3 foreign exchange students who play soccer. Then the rest of team is typically athletes who are just looking to play a fall sport. Many of them don't have any soccer background at all. IF soccer didn't exist many of them would likely run CC, play golf or some might even play football.
Here's the thing. Even if only 4-5 "soccer" kids played football it would make a huge difference in the program because it would help field a JV team. Then, once you have a JV team many of your 8th graders going into 9th grade won't quit because they are afraid of being put out on to a varsity field because of low numbers. That has been a huge issue at TV in recent years. Not many freshman (and freshman parents) want their kid on a varsity field.
Having said that, soccer has been very successful at TV. They typically have 20-25 kids on the team and the team typically does well. I can't imagine a scenario where TV would get rid of soccer. I mean they just added girls' soccer 2 years ago even though they had to let athletes play two sports in the same season (volleyball & soccer for instance) to do it.
TV just has a little different mindset. They want to give their kids as many opportunities to participate as possible and they aren't as worried about wins/losses. Some of the other IVC schools are chasing state titles and wouldn't add soccer because it would limit their success.
Not sure where you’re getting your sources, East’s schedule has been filled for months and IV was never mentioned…..Heard Akron East said no Thanks after State game?
They were listed as playing each other week 4 on the 2025 schedule thread on this forum. Not sure where you’re getting your sources, East’s schedule has been filled for months and IV was never mentioned…..
Looks like IV will open at Green. D2 Federal LeagueHopefully IV can schedule a big game in their open weeks. They’re gonna have everyone in the areas attention.
travel to Green week 1Hopefully IV can schedule a big game in their open weeks. They’re gonna have everyone in the areas attention.
As of now:Anyone heard who Garaway picked up for their open dates? I hope they are good teams
I’ll be surprised if River view is able to field a team. Might want to look to replace that oneAs of now:
W1: @ River View
W2: OPEN
W3: vs. Norwayne
W4: @ Zanesville
W5: @ Girard
Split the 2 Divisions into 2 separate leagues all together. Maybe ask Riverview to join a league with the North teams and Coshocton to join a league with the South teams.I just never liked split conferencesI think Coshocton and River View are the answers. Both D5 and probably shrinking..... I don't feel them staying in the MVL is an issue, I personally feel it's likely they look to get out.
I happen to agree with youSplit the 2 Divisions into 2 separate leagues all together. Maybe ask Riverview to join a league with the North teams and Coshocton to join a league with the South teams.I just never liked split conferences
Smart move. Makes sense why would you want to a schedule a school that might not have a team.Kudos to Garaway for letting TCC out of their crossover game. A few other of those games do not need played as well.
Tusky Valley is hosting Norton in week 3.
Isn't Norton pretty good and DIII or DIV???Tusky Valley is hosting Norton in week 3.
D4 last year, went 7-4, 11-1, and 10-3 the past 3 years.Isn't Norton pretty good and DIII or DIV???
Good Luck to Tusky Valley. TV must supposed to be a lot better next yearD4 last year, went 7-4, 11-1, and 10-3 the past 3 years.
The other thing to keep in mind is TV needed a home game. There were a few schools that there maybe more natural matchups and there was mutual interest but both teams needed home games.I think it might be a situation where they are the closest/similar sized school with availability for that week. Not sure what Norton has returning.
Nothing like scheduling a loss for an already struggling program. The problems at TV run deep.D4 last year, went 7-4, 11-1, and 10-3 the past 3 years.
Tcc supposedly will be around 26 kids again but a lot of freshman’s and sophomores so they’ll still be awful but the numbers are betterSmart move. Makes sense why would you want to a schedule a school that might not have a team.
Some of those other crossovers need to go. No offense to Buckeye trail. But they shouldn't be playing Indian Valley
Who in the IVC should be playing Indian Valley next year lol. The reality is Buckeye Trail is better than TV and Claymont and right on par with Sandy Valley in any given non Cam Blair year.Smart move. Makes sense why would you want to a schedule a school that might not have a team.

I will believe they will have 26 when I see it. I remember there were people last year saying they would have 20-25 last year and I think they had 13 or 14.Tcc supposedly will be around 26 kids again but a lot of freshman’s and sophomores so they’ll still be awful but the numbers are better
I think they had numbers of interest and then some kids pulled on them. Would like to see them bounce and be solid moving forward.I will believe they will have 26 when I see it. I remember there were people last year saying they would have 20-25 last year and I think they had 13 or 14.
I think the best solution is to bring in Coshocton and River View for the big school division and bring in St Thomas Aquinas and get CV to come back for football for the small school division. These schools make the most sense logistically. Outside of those 4 schools, you would need to start looking at OVAC schools for the small school division and there aren't really any "big" small/medium sized schools in the area that would be open to leaving their conferences (Minerva maybe. Tuslaw and Fairless are very much happy in the PAC).It's been brought up before but would adding River View and Coshocton be a viable option to eliminate crossovers? If my memory serves there was a rumor the league reached out to Coshocton... Again just a rumor but I vaguely remember that talk. Would they be able to poach them? would it be effective? would it cause more problems? just curious.
