Gas Prices

I have been thinking about this for a while. You are the owner of a company that refines oil and now have a person that is President that campaigned on the fact he was going to shut you down or at least greatly reduce the need of you product by the masses. During the pandemic demand for your product went down and caused you to shut down and lower your production. Pandemic is going away, demand is going up and you now have to make a choice on your action. What is the best response for you and your company? Do you spend money to bring production back up? Do you just stay where you are now and because of demand have inflation drive prices and surprise profits up? Remember that President and what he said. Would you spend your profits to increase production of a product he the President promised to shut down or would you make as much money as you can with out spending to increase more business that no doubt will just get shut down again this time by a President's promise? Be honest, remember you own this company it is your money to have and spend.

WH’s National Economic Council Director: Paying High Gas Prices ‘About the Future of the Liberal World Order’

Thursday, during an appearance on CNN’s “Newsroom,” National Economic Council Director Brian Deese defended President Joe Biden’s remarks earlier in the day, claiming Americans may have to deal with higher prices as the world grapples with an aggressive Russian President Vladimir Putin setting his sights on Ukraine.

Deese called Biden’s remarks a claim about what was at stake, which he called the “future of the liberal world order.”

“What you heard from the president today was about the stakes,” he said. “This is about the future of the liberal world order, and we have to stand firm. But at the same time, what I’d say to that family, to Americans across the country is, you have a present administration that is going to do everything in its power to blunt those price increases and bring those prices down. Good news, over the last two weeks, we’ve seen the price at the pump come down about 20 cents, but it is still unacceptably high.”

At the height of the misguided covid lock downs. A totally artificial outcome driven by the irresponsible closing down of the economy in an orgy of covid panic porn.
Thank mini Mike! Vote for Nan!

People on here are for socialism when it comes for cheap gas. F-ing hypocrites.

I blame trump awful handling of the pandemic and closed alot refiners.
:ROFLMAO:

But, on May 12, Biden’s Interior Department blocked a proposal to open up more than one million acres of land in Alaska for oil and gas drilling. Two days later, Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency blocked plans to expand an oil refinery in the US Virgin Islands.

Biden and his defenders said he had to block the expansion of the Virgin Islands refinery, given how polluting it was.

But had Biden’s EPA allowed the Virgin Island refinery to expand, the owners would have poured nearly $3 billion into retrofitting the plant so it produced gasoline and other products more cleanly, while significantly increasing production at the same time.

In truth, there are many things Biden could have done, and still should do, to lower energy prices. He could invoke the National Defense Act to accelerate the rate of oil and gas permits. He could set a floor of $80/barrel for re-filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), which would be a powerful incentive for the industry, because it would prevent prices from falling to unprofitable levels. Biden could announce trade agreements with American allies to supply them with liquified natural gas, which would incentivize more natural gas production and lower prices.

So who fault gas prices high all over the world?

That is until you take that trip down the interstate in the middle of a winter cold snap at night. Intrastate, cold and night all shorten the life of your charge. My best guess many be less than 400 and then lets find a charging station and how long to get an 80% fill? They never say how long to get it to 100% .

EV battery can reach full charge in 'less than 10 minutes'

“A new type of silicon-anode lithium-ion battery could be the solution the EV market is waiting for, as it can apparently charge from empty to full in less than 10 minutes.”

This would require Russia to cut its own throat so to speak. If they cut sales they lose the revenue they need to fund their war in Ukraine.

Doesn’t seem very likely imo.
Valid point, but Putin is very calculating. His people are used to simple lives. Who is set up to withstand pain? He will sell energy, don't forget that. It will only be to Countries he approves.

That’s a load of dung! Biden never campaigned on “shutting down” oil companies and right now domestic oil production is higher then anytime during the trump administration. Like coal, the oil industry has reacted to market demand and has accessed that oil is not a sustainable business model in the future. Makes no sense not to pivot to the next energy source which is what they should and are doing right now. You can make it a partisan issue if you want, but most reasonable people know what the truth is. You may defeat Biden or whoever runs in 24 with your Constant lies and disinformation but people are concerned about the future of our environment and the energy industry will look different no matter who is in power.

So the video of him saying he would shut down the oil industry is fake?

Like everything else about this co—ks——er?

Umm, oil is a fossil fuel.

You owe me a beer.

It’s amazing what innovations we can produce in short periods of time when humans put their minds to something.

A cut sound bit in response to a question from a unhappy environmentalist. The full context was: “The activist, 24-year-old Rebecca Beaulieu, later said she appreciated that Biden took her question seriously, but that he was not satisfied with Biden's plan to eliminate net carbon emissions by 2050.” You owe me a beer. You said he campaigned on it. You failed.
