Frank Russo era at La Salle coming to a close

The Frank Russo era of coaching XC and track and field at La Salle will officially be coming to a close in a few weeks....they eliminated his job and he won't be returning to coach without a job to support his family. Unpopular decision to say the least to see him treated this way by a school who he has devoted over 30 plus years to but hey, he does deserve a thread to say good luck moving forward.

So now it's not nepotism like it was with you, but it's cronyism with Russo. Karma caught up with your perpetrator, but the question now is will karma take care of this also down the road.

That question being answered remains to be seen but one thing is certain; Cross Country and Track at the school will never recover. Never.

And to top if off-this decision to move on from him came from three people whom are all new to fairly new to La Salle within the past 2 to 4 years (Pantling, Marshall & Tankersley).

So we are clear....Russo is not retiring from coaching nor was that his intention. You will see him somewhere else next year working and coaching.

Where will he go? His alma mater? Another GCL school? One of the big suburban schools (Mason, the Lakotas, etc)? A smaller school?

It seems very reminiscent of 5 years ago when Magnificat pushed out its highly successful XC and track coach - parents felt she was too demanding, and the administration caved. She landed at the smaller private school in town where she and her husband, who is a very knowledgeable sprint coach, are gradually building that program.
