Huge news out of Ann Arbor today as the feds have announced 24 charges against former Michigan co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss for hacking into thousands college athletes’ personal accounts to view intimate photos and videos.

The 24-count indictment alleges Weiss hacked into the accounts of thousands of college athletes from across the country and stole intimate photos and videos.

The federal indictment alleges Weiss gained illegal access to a database of student-athletes at more than 100 colleges and universities that were maintained by a third-party company. Weiss is accused of downloading personal information and medical data of more than 150,000 athletes and using that information to obtain access to the social media, email and cloud storage accounts of more than 3,000 athletes and download personal intimate digital photographs and videos "that were never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners," federal prosecutors said Thursday.

In all, Weiss is charged with 24 counts: 14 counts of unauthorized access to computers and 10 counts of aggravated identity theft. If convicted, he faces up to five years on each computer charge and two years on each identity theft charge.

This action separate from the illegal scouting may have been why the NCAA has delayed announcing its verdict and penalties against Michigan

Weiss’s case has never had any impact on the illegal scouting case because it wasn’t related.

The illegal scouting case hasn’t even made it to a hearing yet. It’s going to likely be awhile.

The two are definitely are not related but I could see the Feds asking the NCAA to go slow on their issues so as not to jeopardize the DOJ case.

The only NCAA issues are the accusations of illegal scouting and the University's institutional control. There was nothing illegal about the sign stealing in itself.

Weiss was doing this well before he arrived in Ann Arbor. I mean is Harbs supposed to perform spot checks on people’s personal electronics or something?

Happened under the unwatchful eye of the 2 hairball brothers. HC is not responsible for the assistants they hire, weiss (appears at least some if not a lot of this happened on campus), stalions. Hairball has taken see no evil, hear no evil to an all-new level. No wonder why its named SCUM University. Also, why he (hairball) left dodge instead of being a man and face the music over the cheating scandal.

Zach Smith. One victim. A minor misdemeanor.
Zach Smith pleaded guilty to a reduced minor misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and will pay $150 in court costs.
Matt Weiss.

Anyone from Michigan shouldn't be allowed within 10 feet of a computer. Something bad happens.

Stallions - Dressed up in disguise and hung out on CMU sidelines

McDonald - One year show cause for recruiting violations

Yood - Tried to meet a 13 yr old at walmart

Partridge - Fired for telling people not to cooperate

Harbaugh - 5 year show cause....and the NCAA isn't done yet.

Why do bad things keep coming out about Michigan? Clearly the worst thing that Michigan ever did is to hire Harbaugh.
Michigan is forever tainted as a dirty program.
