I always forget that Benintendi is from Cincinnati.

Andrew Benintendi (Madeira HS) gets traded today from the Royals to the Yankees for 3 minor league pitchers.

Anybody know the scoop on Evan White? I know he had hip surgery then hernia surgery, and was rehabbing in minors and I haven’t heard anything since. He’s a good kid. I worked several of his high school games and was always respectful

To update the MLB leaders from Ohio:
Kyle Schwarber (Middletown, Phillies) is 2nd in MLB with 34 HR, trailing only Aaron Judge
He's also 22nd in RBI with 71

Andrew Benintendi (Maderia, Yankees) is 9th in MLB hitting .305.

Chris Bassitt (Genoa, Akron U, Mets) is 27th in ERA at 3.26

Eric Lauer (Midview, Brewers) is 32nd in ERA at 3.44
He's also 28th in wins with 9

With under a week left in the Minor League season, Dominic Canzone (Walsh Jesuit/Ohio State) has had a very nice season.
Dom is currently hitting .301 with 18 HR and 78 RBI. He has spent time in both AA and AAA but 76 of his 94 games have been in AAA Reno.

Adam Wolf (Milan Edison/Louisville) had a good year at AA Erie 5-4 with 4 saves and a 2.72 ERA, 92 K's in 89 Innings. May have gotten a late call up to Toledo had Erie not made it to their league championship series

Dominic Canzone (Walsh Jesuit/Ohio State) finished the year at AAA Reno (Diamondbacks). Overall, he hit .299 with 22 HR and 89 RBI.
He also hit .375 with 1 HR and 1 RBI in the playoffs as the Reno Aces won the Pacific Coast League Championship over El Paso.

Any spring training news for guys from the state of Ohio?

Walsh Jesuit's Ryan Feltner P (Ohio State/Colorado Rockies) is projected to be in the starting rotation again for the Rockies.
Also Warrior grad Dominic Canzone OF (Ohio State/Arizona Diamondbacks) is the #22 ranked prospect in the Diamondbacks organization and is expected to start in AAA Reno this season.

Luke Raley (Medina Highland/Lake Erie College) is have an outstanding Spring Training for the Rays. So far, 5 HR, 13 RBI, 0.316 BA, 1.158 OPS. Versatile player that plays corner outfield and 1st base. Real good chance at making opening day roster.

The highest Ohioan that I know that was drafted in the 2021 MLB draft was Seth Lonsway from Celina HS and Ohio State
Seth was drafted in the 6th Round by the San Francisco Giants
So far this year in A ball in long relief, he has a 3-0 record with 4.15 ERA and 23 K in 17.1 innings.
Sean Murphy was drafted in the 3rd round by the Oakland Athletics in 2016. He was born in New York, so he is not an Ohioan, but he did go to high school here (Centerville) and played college ball at Wright State. He just signed a $73M contract with the Braves after a 3.5 WAR season with Oakland.

He played 2 seasons of varsity baseball at Centerville, hitting .373 as a Junior in 2012 and hitting .541 as a senior in 2013.

Great news about Sean. I’ve always rooted for him since his minor league days.

Nice to see a guy that played D2 college ball make good. Goes back to that old saying...if you have the talent, they will find you.

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher, Ryan Feltner (Ohio State and Walsh Jesuit), had a day to remember on Tuesday.
He was the starting pitcher against his childhood favorite team, the Cleveland Guardians.
Ryan picked up the win, giving up only 1 unearned run over 6 innings in the Rockies 5-1 win.
