Is it just me or is Dillon Campbell very underrated at number 20? Took 3rd at Ironman in a loaded bracket, beat #5 and avenged his only loss. IMO he's up there with anybody not named Ben Davino.

It's insane how many people ohio sends.
Is there still an intrigue to being a fargo qualifier?
Just my two cents. I see the numbers as a good thing. Kids get the oppertunity to go to a high level event in the summer months. They get additional training and get to meet other athletes from around ohio as well as around the country. Kids they may see at say Ironman.

“Is anyone saying anything-- other than a couple yappsters
I guess the golf course could provide a place for those conversations”
Sounds like a Richard thing to say, doesn’t it?
why would you put something i said on another thread on this thread? what you quoted here has ZERO to do with anything fagro related

A lot of good kids don’t attend because they play football and this tourney is during the football start of practice.

The official first date of football practice in Ohio is July 31.
Camp days, and now, I believe, camp can count towards the acclimation days. In theory, teams can start hitting day 1 if kids did the alloted camp days. So, if a football kid has camp during that time, especially acclimation days, they are missing football time.

For me, if I qualified for Fargo, it would be a no-brainer, plus my HS football coach(es) were wrestlers, they would have understood, maybe not liked it, but understood.

He continues to get on he has a resume that’s pretty damn good which I feel that’s how he likes it under the radar and let’s his effort on the mat speak for him

He's a great pick up for Tech. They do lightweights well down there, and he's clearly not scared of anybody who will be at a B1G school.

I can’t wait till super 33 and Ironman I look for him to make noise at both of them this year he has to be a favorite to win Ironman this year he has taken 3rd the past 2 years
4th and 3rd. Still good showing. Not sure he will be the favorite. Plenty of higher ranked guys will be back, especially if any of the top guys from 120 come up. Not saying I'm counting him out and saying he can't win it. Any tournament he is in, he is in the mix.

126 should be loaded, 132 might be an easier path. Regardless he'll need an "upset" or two but he's capable of it.

Yet, he’s beaten Davino.

He got pinned by O’Neil who was pretty low at the time at Escape the Rock. He also lost like 4 times at Elite 8–which is a nasty event. I am not hating on him…just being factual. And I do agree he is underrated though.

The O’Neil loss was a shitter, true. He got caught and had a bad Elite tournament, also true—but he wrestled up a weight class. Davino almost lost his state finals match against a nobody. The game is a process. Campbell certainly isn’t at the level of a Jax Forrest. But he is in the picture for top five in country.

Do yourself two favors:
1) Ignore the offseason rankings--guys get hurt and take time off and they drop like a stone in the national rankings. If you don't keep winning on the national circuit...you will drop. So what.
2) Flo's rankings always suck and are the most volatile. Those guys are over-the-top hyping guys who won last week's event...regardless of body of work. If you are that interested in rankings (I am)--go on MatScouts and follow Willie's. He may be a knucklehead sometimes, but his whole wrestling media business was built off of his rankings. He puts his name on it. His reputation. Love him or hate him he does the research work as opposed to just looking up the results of the latest tournament.
When you combine points 1 and 2, it leads you to Willie's year-end rankings back in April or May. It is for the reasons I listed in number 1 that Willie cuts off his rankings so soon--he knows lots of kids take time off and many seniors take off completely. Anyway, Campbell was #8 behind Braeden Davis. I think that is about right. If you remove the 5 seniors ahead of him, he would be 3rd going into next season. Obviously kids and weight classes will change--but he will be in top 5. So I don't get too excited about the offseason stuff particularly from Flo. Is 20 too low...you bet your a$s it is! But Dillon gets plenty of love out there. I mean he is going to VaTech.
