Just thought I'd share some awesome success stories of our athletic Bears:
Volleyball: While Hoover reigns supreme, I believe Jackson is tied for second place w/GlenOak. Our Lady Spikers are 13-6, 8-3 right now after defeating Lake last night.
Tennis: Trisha Conlan is 19-3 so far this year and has moved on in the Canton sectionals as the #1 seeded singles player. Our doubles team of Taylor Zito & Marisa Sloan also won their opening match and has moved on in the sectional tourney. Great job to these three young ladies!!!
Girls Golf: After winning the Federal League pre-season tourney & Stark County championship, our girls continued to play well in the OHSAA tourney, as they took 2nd place in the Sectional to advance to the District, alone w/nemesis, Perry (who shot one worse than the Bears to take 3rd place).
Boys Golf: The guys also won the Federal League pre-season tourney, but finished 3rd at the SC championship. However, they also took 2nd place in the Sectionals, yesterday, to advance to the Districts along w/Lake (1st), Perry (lost 5th man tie to Jackson) and GlenOak (4th). As a note, Jackson only lost one FL match this season - that to Sectional Champ, Lake!
Cross Country: The boys took 5th place and the girls 3rd place in the 9 team boys and 7 team girls Stark County championships last week. The Federal League Championships are next Saturday at GlenOak.
