As for pronunciations, let's not forget that the MAC is home to Versailles, with the Ohio pronunciation "VER-SALES."

I had a busy weekend and decided I could only make one game. I chose this one as I thought it would likely be the best of the bunch. I was wrong on that one! Nonetheless, it was an entertaining game and my favorite Coldwater game since the big Mooney upset on 20027.

Sure, they could, but the ultimate responsibility lies with the PA person to do their job. Same goes for the TV guys. It’s baffling to me how little some of these people care about doing their jobs right.
We are far from perfect at ML, but in basketball we simply ask the scorekeeper of the visiting team. If they aren't sure, we ask an assistant coach. Seems to work well.

Think about what you just posted Laverde has 7 state championships in 17 - 18 years that is amazing. Maybe they would have less titles if they were more diversified.

It's who they are very few HS teams can run and throw the football both competently. People focus on the losses; K has won 7 state titles. 3 in a row 18,19, 20. K beat defending D5 champ Perry earlier this year running the football. K wins games with defense and running the football, slow the running game down a team has a chance of beating them. K grad. a lot on defense from last season and this is HS in the lower levels most teams don't recruit. My guess is K will be back at the state championship game again next year and likely win state.
Edit: Kirtland has def. Marion Local twice since the beginning of the 15 season how many other H.S. teams have done that?
Less titles if they were more diversified? That’s laughable…..obviously you don’t have to be a genius to realize if the running game is churning…..the problem you don’t seem to realize is what happened Saturday….they were in trouble after the first series….they had no answer….you can’t tell me throwing 8-10 passes in their meaningless regular season couldn’t have helped them ? Unprepared for a Defense that can shut you down

It's not necessarily how often you throw....but when and how effectively...

I don't know when they normally threw this yr but with their running attack and opponents knowing they have to won 1st down I would.have thrown play action on first down often enough.

An offense like theirs likely wont be able to pass effectively against good teams if the predominantly throw in obvious downs
..
But on first down or second and 5 or less when the defense I ready for a run? Would be like taking candy from a baby...

But hey..he has 7.titles..

7 more than I have as a coach
.

Yeah, never understood why they don't give them a list with names spelled as they're pronounced
I provided all media (TV and radio) with starting lineups for the Cavs which included phonetical spellings of their last names. I started doing this way back in early 2000s when I watched a re-broadcast and was embarrassed for the boys whose names were being butchered. There are some announcers who will seek us out before the games and ask how some names are pronounced. Announcers do the best they can, and we try to be proactive to help them along.

I thought the annoucners in Canton did a good job, but noticed they spelled Poitkoiter on the jumbo tron as captian during the coin flip!
