Really, when you face Alter's offense, it challenges your defenses ability to play their roles. Disciplined football is a requirement to beat Alter. You won't beat them any other way. Otherwise, the option becomes difficult to stop, the drives are long, and it'll wear on your defense over time.

This is going to be a great game. these teams seem to be equal. The knights defense has been UNSTOPPABLE, the offense slowed down a bit the last game (they drove down the field pretty much every time but failed to execute with turnovers). I don't know much about the BIG RED but they've got this far. Since im a knights fan i will take (Knights 17 - Big Red 3)

I agree, I watched Alter videos and I think Sheridan is just as physical if not more physical… Alter is good team, we shall see Friday RRR!!!!
I'll have to disagree. Alter is by far the best defense we'll have seen this year. 9 points allowed in 4 playoff games. I believe 1st one to 21 will win. RRR

Why are we talking about McNick in this thread?
a McNicholas poster said they would be playing Stuebenville in the future. I replied to that poster regarding another future match up on their schedule. also McNicholas is in the same region as Alter

Alter's defense has been very stingy. Especially in the final third of the field. Even if Massie had injuries and Wyoming may have been less potent than previous years, Both are extremely good football teams and to hold them to a combined 3 points says a lot. I would like to see Alter's offense be a little more explosive but they are getting the job done. Both teams have good kicking games and I would expect another low scoring affair. I would predict Alter 17-7 as long as Alter's offense does not turn the ball over or shoot themselves in the foot with penalties. I just think luck (or the good lord) has been with them. I also would like to see that defense match up to Glenville's offense. (For entertainment value). Stuebenville's offense is certainly a step up from Wyoming's so it should be a good game to watch. I may even watch this over the NCAAF games on Friday. Maybee.............

Agreed. Knights are rolling and have one of the best defenses, if not the best, in D4... dont see them letting up 30.
No one is scoring 30 in this game. Having seen both teams The Big Red has more explosive play ability. Our kicking game is extraordinarily good. Alter won’t get many if any short fields. Being objective I think Big Red is more talented at the skill positions and we have defended the option very well. We shut down Massies vaunted option attack a few years ago. The Big Red staff does a nice job in preparing for option teams. I see a close game that could come down to special teams. Roll Red Roll.

I wouldn’t knock alters kicking game. Their kicker made a 43 yarder against Wyoming if I’m not mistaken. And also pulled off a
fake punt. Been impressed with alters specials this year. Alter should’ve beat Wyoming by more, couple of throws that could’ve gone for TDs but were overthrown. It’s state everyone’s going to give it their all. I’m expecting big things from alters backfield and their athletes on the outside to make plays. Defense is as stout as it’s been in years. That DL and big Reif in the middle tough to score on.
Alter wins 21-7.

* Historical 1st in that 2006 game* 1st time a woman ever played a football final. Later made US Olympic team as a weightlifter. She played special teams. Alter gagged 2 PATs; lost by one. MVP Collaros- Steubie. Nice run at UC later.

Her brother played at OHIO State

petroglyph:

Referees ruled a fumble in '06 when Stevie Davis caught a 1st down pass from Collaros when clearly he was down by contact when the fumble occurred. Alter returned it to the 5, then scored, and made it a close game. Had that play been ruled correctly, that game may have been a blowout. And the "gagged" extra points would have been meaningless. RRR!!!

Has this always been Alter’s MO?

Kenston must have been really disciplined on defense then
That year, alter was very one dimensional. They ran wishbone 90% of the time. They would pass out of the bone, but was very predictable. This year alter runs a lot of gun and spread. Probably the most I’ve seen them out of the wishbone in my lifetime of watching the knights.

I think both teams agree. 33 dollars for 2 tix is embarassing. I hope a massive collective group of Ohio schools burns the OHSAA to the ground and starts over.
