David Taylor vs. Colt Sponseller

we see this a lot

1. David Taylor is a young freshmen looking to prove himself. Sponseller has been through the ringer and he realistically knows this is it, and wrestling is only going to take him so far. Great example is Dustin Schlatter looked unreal his freshmen and steadily declinde thoughout his career.
2. If DT can stay healthy he can be an all time great. Do I think ---- lose his hunger as he gets older probably not. I dont think hes the type of kid that likes to party, and really enjoys wrestling.
3. For OSU people dont realize how many factors there are in college wrestling. Success in high school doesnt mean anything cause in college people arent afraid of each other. The mental side of it is very even. I am blabbering but OSU has a lot of work to do to compete with PSU in the next few years.

tOSU did not invest their money in the right places. There are/were many kids they could have gottin if done right. So much for building a fence around Ohio.

Cael coming to Big "10" to a school like PSU....they maybe next Iowa and rule Big "10" and NCAA for along time. Pennsylvania is home to most AA now Cael can just pick'em out of his own back yard. Ohio hs wrestlers may follow as well. Taylor, Ruth and Altons just sign of things to come...imo.

Taylor always made wrestling look easy in high school. Looking tough in college as well.

Enlighten us oh great one!

Go Bucks!!!

As a Buckeye, I am slightly bitter that Clark, Sako, Toal, Taylor, and Neibert slipped away from Buckeye recruitment.

However, between Nemec, Palmer, Sponseller, Jameson, Magrum, Steiber and now H. Steiber, Tessari, and Dijulius you can't ask for much more out of your backyard. Throw in Courts and Garcia and that is quite the list.

Can't really blame any of the Bucks problems this year on recruitment.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Ohio State, for the longest time, never did well recruiting Ohio kids. I think so many high school programs have built relationships with other colleges, that it is hard to break through those barriers almost immediatley. The wrestling program has been a sleeping giant for a while now. Ryan did have success with some of Hellickson's recruits, but he also brought in Pucillo and Rella.

Clark - time will tell
Sako - too smart
Taylor - joined at the hip with Sanderson

There really is no excuse for OSU's decline PSU beat them with 8 freshman and 2 sopomores. Are these all of Ryans recruits? We are talking about reloading not rebuliding, he did well with Heliksons recruits.

Give me a break...This is the same STUPID argument people had about Jim Tressel when he first had success (They were Coopers recruits). Look how that turned out.

Tom Ryan is a great coach and will continue to do BIG things at tOSU...They will be fine...goin through some issues right now, but were you around when Hellickson went through those?

How many times did Hellickson put the Buckeyes in the top 2 at nationals? Ryan has done it twice already..

Watching Taylor wrestle this week at the Scramble you can see he belongs at Penn State and you can see a lot of Cael coming out of him from just being in this room. Penn State is for real with some crazy talent.

Well he just won the Southern Scuffle [scramble?] teched/pinned all the way to the top. Quite a show, big --- college tourny. Penn State is the big dog IMO.
