D7 R27 2025

I know Conotton Valley lost double digit seniors, but you go from winning 9 games and making the 3rd round of the playoffs to an awful schedule the next year

The MSL is by far weirder. I get how the urban district leagues come out weird, but no real reason why the MSL has to be as dysfunctional as it is.
I don't think the MSL is as dysfunctional as the Senate. Football wise, at least. Just last year East Tech played 4-5 games and called it quits.

I respect CV ever since they passed it all over us. But jeez. That schedule is horrendous.

Chalked league that is dying a slow, painful death for all involved. The same league that’s willing to play a 16-game league schedule in baseball, with it being fit into the eight school grid.

Because, again, “can’t hurt anyone’s feelings.”

They do this, IIRC, to satisfy the minimum sports per fall/winter/spring mandate by the OHSAA.

Sounds like the SEOAL.
At least the SEOAL tried to make it work despite the massive travel distances.

The MSL could just go away as soon as next year, and have its schools reassemble into a league through reconstitution… but, again, it wouldn’t “be nice” to pull the lynchpin necessary to make it work. So now everyone has to suffer in the meantime.
I didn't even know this was a rule.
I didn’t, either, until Collinwood got hit with a postseason suspension for not abiding by it. The rule I guess exists because the OHSAA doesn’t want schools putting their athletic eggs into one basket (this rule is clearly designed with city schools in mind, btw)

1. Danville
t2. Trimble
t2. NC
4. Eastern (they might not be D7 or R27.)

Some of this region’s shakeout in November will depend on where NC finishes, imo
Three of those 4 are blue bloods to the playoffs, so rightfully they would be up top in this waaaaaay early prediction. Tomlinson is doing a great job at Beaver Eastern and have a lot returning. Miller graduates 9 srs, 6 starters on Offense and 6 on Defense, Have another big Sr. class next year, that were significant contributors this year. Offensively they lose three 3-4 year starting lineman and the QB, but the rest of the skilled players return.
One X factor is the enrollment numbers do not change this year but competitive balance numbers do change. I see Waterford coming back and possibly others moving around.

Waterford’s CBs might be in the class of 2027, though, from what I understand. They didn’t have to get incorporated into this previous season if they didn’t take the field — but now they’re stuck with them if indeed they’re in the upcoming junior class.

He said it when they held up the runner up trophy towards their team when accepting it. Not sure if he said "next year" or not.
It will be 32 in a row , unless Millersport upsets them.
I had no idea they do runner up trophies for regions lol

I do not see the upside of Millersport playing them.

Something critical to look at: MP returns 20 of this previous roster’s 23, however… 10 of those 20 are in next season’s senior class.

That’s a bad game to have for a program in survival mode.

An easy win. That's all it is.

The last thing that a program clinging on for life needs is for their best team, since the program’s resurrection, to get 70-burgered right before conference play (which they have zero wins in dating back to October 2017.)
That's just bad on Eastern's part. Neither party gains anything from it.

We are talking about the same forum where someone called South Gallia "legit" this past season.
Athens could be on the verge of being relevant again....OU just turned over some staff. Their success depends on OU Coaches kids.
Athens only wins the TVC Ohio in sports like track and wrestling, where they have every weight class and event filled because they have 340+ boys and everyone else (other than Vinton) have less than 200.
