D4 Region 13 2024

The QB is legit obviously but I’m just now learning about the WR with the wheels. Is he a Jr. or Sr.?

I watched the two state playoff games last year that Perry played in on the internet, and I remember being impressed by him. Perry had two WRs with a lot of speed last year and one graduated (Richards), but as a junior I thought Sivon was every bit as good. I'm surprised he doesn't get more attention. I think he had 2 TD catches in the state final, with at least one being in the highlight reel on Hudl I linked to (go route as a slot receiver if I remember correctly). He reminds me a lot of Hackleman from St. Eds.

I hope Perry and Glenville face off in the regional final because I'd be interested to see what he looks like against a team that is clearly better than any he's ever faced before.

If anyone is going to give Glenville a game it will be Perry. Glenville’s weakness is their secondary or more so bad coaching.

The first part is probably accurate. For the second, I don't think "weakness is their secondary" or "bad coaching" are what I'd say at all, more that their linebackers, DL size, and speed on the interior are so good that, even if they don't have any true weaknesses, if you want to have a chance at staying in the game, you have to attack their secondary.

I have my doubts that anyone in D4 can do that well enough to hang with them, but Perry could have the best odds of giving them a game if the QB can get any time to throw (a big if IMO).

Im getting old...I was made aware that i have been on this board since 2001! Hub, you are not far behind! lol
We have seen a lot of football! A lot of people not believing in The Griffs! Things have been sporadic since Claude but every now and then The Griffs find a way. We are one of the few inner-city schools to win a state championship. And not many have 2!
Kids are different now.....We will see how much heart they have!

The only obvious losers are those that actually believe Glenville belongs in DIV. They couldn't win in DI or DII, but why didn't they at least try DIII for a while? I mean Massilon only had to drop down one division before they finally broke through.
Fair but the kids can’t control that stuff. Just play ball

I just did quick math in my head from maxpreps schedule so don't tear me apart if I'm a few points off lol.

Griffs have 177 points for and 218 against this year. Average ppg scoring is 17.7 and defense allows 21.8 ppg. Strength of schedule is 9.4.

Perry has scored 473 points and allowed 73 points by opponents. Averaging 47.3 ppg for and 7.3 against. Strength of schedule is 4.

Taking offense and defensive stats in is probably a part of the separation. And I'm not talking bad about butchel or saying they can't win. Anything can happen in any game, that's why they're played. I'm just saying that's probably a part of why they have the predictions the way they are...

Glenville couldn’t play with the big boys and ran to D4.

I'm not Massillon supporter, but they did beat the D1 champ two years in a row, so it's not like they're running from high level competition.

I've heard a lot about Glenville, surely OHSAA would notice if there was some obvious subversion of enrollment numbers?
