D-1 Region 4

With the recent transfers I think Princeton is the most talented team in the region. I believe they will get out coached in the playoffs though. I’m ranking the teams by how far they go in the playoffs 1 Region Champ, 2 Runner up, 3 and 4 semi finalists etc….
1. Moeller
2. Lakota West
3. Princeton
4. Winton Woods
5. St Xavier
6. Hamilton
7. Elder
8. Lebanon
Been out of the loop. What transfers did Princeton acquire.

Princeton is loaded all over but will still need o line to step up. They are big and young. Wouldn’t be surprised if a few freshmen play this year

If you are talking about freshmen on the OL, it's going to be a L O N G season for the Vikes. I truly hope this isn't the case for Princeton.

online is the question mark for this year. But the incoming freshman class and last years class has good size very good size just got to continue the growth

They had a lot of guys with a head start on size already on last year's roster. I think they lost three starters, but they return a conference first teamer. Suggesting wholesale replacements are needed is an overstatement.

I saw him play twice
1st game: 6 for 21 for 62 yards and 1 INT, zero TDs
2nd game: 16 for 29 for 160 yards and 1 INT, zero TDs

I can't wait to see what the pampered recruit does this year against X
Is crown prince Herbie going to be gifted the QB slot again so your alums can drool over the frequent mentions of X on college game day? Only stat that matters: 20-10, W for the good guys!

Not suggesting wholesale replacements. But they need to get bigger and stronger on the line. And the incoming freshman class is a good start .

Going in, will Moeller’s Ponatoski’s be the top QB in Cincy? He made big leaps as a sophomore. I can only think he will make another big jump his Junior year. He has a solid line coming back. Week one is going to be a big test for their offense.
If he stays healthy he is a sure bet to go down with most if not all of the school's career passing records. He will undoubtedly make huge strides coming into this year and should be the best QB in SW Ohio if not the State. I have not seen a kid with this much raw talent in a long long time. To add to his promise of a good season he has at least 4 or 5 D-1 receivers including tight end to work with and an experienced O-line. GBM 💪 🏈

Not to mention, he is the #6 ranked HS Baseball Player in the U.S. in the class of 2026. He will have to make a choice between football and baseball in the future.

You all are way under estimating StX. They are loaded at the skill positions and their OL is going to be solid.
Except their QB play is sub par and their depth quality and special teams have been lacking in recent years. While they have a few guys that can motor, their overall speed at the skill positions and defensive backfield is lacking. GBM 💪 🏈

They are not going to have any depth issues this season. This roster has some dudes and good depth at across the field

Having Freshmen play on Friday nights is a sure fire way to have an early playoff exit.
That's not true in my opinion sure they might struggle early but if Princeton has the talent that everybody is raving about they will be fine. Honestly I think the earlier round playoff matchups would benefit them gaining experience but it could hurt them later in the playoffs if they play a more veteran team like around the regional championship.

Guess time will tell, but I assure you freshmen on OL will lead to early exit

It's Moe & Princeton, then the rest.

Milford lost too much and X, while always a tough out, don't have the same firepower of their rivals.

Here's how I see the top 10 coming out of the shoot. The 3 GCL schools once again have murderous schedules, so not sure they really move down much in weeks they lose. I think only the top 4 listed below have a change to win the region, with Moeller a heavy favorite.

1. Moeller
2. St X
3. Princeton
4. Lakota West
5. Winton Woods
6. Elder
7. Hamilton
8. Milford
9. Oak Hills
10. Mason

Region 4 seems not nearly as impressive as it usually does from top to bottom. The top 4 teams is still the toughest in the state. But to think mediocre squads like Hamilton, Oak Hills, and Mason could be top 10 is strange to think about.

Are you that same weird guy who was telling us to look out for Oak Hills last year after they lost to 3-8 Turpin who ended the year ranked 200 in the state on the Drew50 computer? Putting them on this list makes no sense, especially ahead of Mason, and knowing that Lakota East and Middletown should be improved this year.

I don't ever recall strongly singing the praises of Oak Hills. I may have said they could surprise some people, but that was probably the extent of it.

I do think they could end up top 8 if they win some of the toss up games in the GMC. They aren't beating Princeton or LW however. They can beat anyone else on their schedule. That's not really a stretch.

It really doesn't matter because there are only 3-4 teams that are capable of winning R4 this year, which isn't much different than most years. And this is a R4 list - there's really not much there after the top 6 team, and a consistent top team like Elder will likely have somewhat of a down year.

I do think a team like Oak Hills (or LE or Mason) could maybe upset a WW or Elder in the playoffs this year. They played Elder very well last year and their best players are all coming back. They have some good players in the system, but the depth is suspect. And it's Oak Hills - they're usually their own worst enemy. Not probable, but possible. Most years it's impossible.

Middletown is no longer in R4.

Not much different than the past 30+ years. There's typically only a handful of programs that are going to win the region.

The middle of the pack after those 5 teams is relatively even as most of them just beat up on one another in the GMC. The bottom is real bad. Elder may lose 5-6 games this season and are still likely to not lose to the mid-tier teams in R4 in the playoffs with the exception of maybe WW (but the gap is smaller this year).

In no particular order:

Top Tier This Year:
Moeller
St X
LW
Princeton

Middle Tier This Year:
Elder
Winton Woods
Fairfield
Hamilton
Oak Hills
Mason
Milford
LE
Colerain (let's see if they got a little better to keep them out of the low tier)

Low Tier This Year:
Sycamore
Walnut Hills
Little Miami
West Clermont
Western Hills

Anyone wanna share thoughts on the Week 1 Tank Bowl?

Completely disagree. There were countless years where #10 was a team that would win playoff games in other regions. That definitely isn't the case anymore.
