COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2024-2025

There should be limits on the number of teams from one conference to keep teams from tanking, to encourage other conference teams in. A dicey game to play but these are people that like dice.

I can’t remember the last time Ohio State had as impressive a win as Alabama is doing tonight.
Well, since LSU isnt as good as USC ( who happens to be 16th in an 18 team conference & may not be bowl eligible) I can list the wins that are just as impressive this decade.
Every Penn State win
Every Notre Dame win
Utah
Clemson
I might throw in the Iowa victories

Agree in principle, but there are only 4 main conferences. It’s going to be interesting to see how this first year plays out.

If you watched Texas A&M backup qb carve up LSU on the ground, what exactly did you expect Milroe to do? I’m surprised they only put up 42.

Also the officiating in the BYU-Utah game was horrendous. Almost to the point you wonder if they are protecting their only unbeaten

I’m talking about looking dominant in all facets against a solid team. Only game on that list that comes to mind is Clemson 2020. So in other words it’s been a LONG time

They’re going to need points systems or something for these leagues without divisions. The tiebreakers are going to be absolutely bonkers to figure out top 2

LSU D was trash last year, same thing this year. Their QB seems to have regressed. I'm so happy for Brian Kelly

Speaking of them, I'm predicting USC upsets ND! USC wins last 3 games to become bowl eligible!

I’ve always said, in fact a few times here, that the playoff was the right choice but the committee wasn’t. A playoff chosen by the BCS should be the format.
The BCS would have the following ranking (and corresponding seed):
1 Oregon (1)
2 Ohio State (5)
3 Texas (2)
4 Indiana (6)
5 Penn State (7)
6 BYU (3)
7 Tennessee (8)
8 Notre Dame (9)
9 Alabama (10)
10 Georgia (11)
11 Ole Miss (OUT)
12 Miami (4)
Next four: SMU, Boise State (12), ATM, Clemson

Bummer Eli Holstein wont be playing today against Clemson. Clemson probably would have won still, but Holstein gives them a much better chance.

120 or so D1 Teams and one good game today.

Nice league.
Personally I’m quite interested in Tulane-Navy and Illinois-MSU. Also surprised Cal is favored by 10 over Syracuse so I’ll probably tune into that as well.

Baylor WVU is intriguing. Dave Aranda and Neal Brown might be coaching for their jobs for the rest of the year and looking to become bowl eligible today.

Speaking of WVU, have to think any shot they had at luring Cignetti home is gone now after his extension. Haven’t seen buyout terms but $8m a year through 3032, it has to be pretty hefty. No way they have that kinda cash.

Well it’s early but Pitt is keeping up with Clemson so far. 7-7 with a big 3rd and 12 stand by Pitts defense to force a punt.

Refs trying to gift this game to Clemson. BS roughing the passer call on Pitts defense. Clemson hits the back up Pitt QB in the head, clearly at that, and no flag. Even the announcers and rules expert are shocked at the no call.

Officials throw a flag about 7 minutes later. Shades of UGA-Texas

Tx. 13 Arky 7 late 3rd qtr. Days of the big boys dominating is over IMO. TP has made for more of a level playing field.

People keep talking parity, I just don’t see it. Yes Indiana is a cute story, otherwise it’s all the same teams at the top or/and benefited through weird schedules because conferences got too big.

Food for thought, Texas went to Michigan and kicked the living S out of them, probably the 5th best team in the B1G.

Totally agree.

Hard to believe LSU had guys like JJ, Jamar, Terrance Marshall, etc. all recently and now they have guys who combine for roughly 5 drops in the first quarter against a bad Florida team.

Nebraska up early on USC due to a pick 6. Nebraska looking to get bowl eligible, USC needs a win to likely prevent a losing season.
