And they traded a SS hitting 333 (along with 2 other prospects) for a guy hitting 145.It's easy to complain about Vogt, but it doesn't help when Kwan/Frye/Naylor have just fallen off a cliff offensively. I didn't expect Kwan to hit .400 for the season, but he's been a .150 hitter for the last 2 months. Naylor has been even worse. SS has been an issue all season regardless of who is in the lineup. The bullpen has faltered as well. Maybe Vogt hasn't been able to push all the buttons in the last 6 weeks, but it still comes down to the players hitting, pitching and fielding. That being said, all is not lost at this point.
Stros score 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to beat the Royals 6-3. Go Stros!!!
Rocchio is a bigger clown than Arias.Rocchio needs to stop being cute with the flips and just throw it to first base. I'd seriously consider benching him and putting Schneemann or somebody in for that blunder.
This team can not handle a lead to save its life. Lively is just getting hammered.
Astros pitcher throwing a no-hitter against Royals in the 7th.

Astros score winning run in the bottom of the ninth after Royals tie it up in the top of the ninth with a two-run homer. Lead now 2.5 games.
Agree. His gaffes almst collectively cost the game last night. Pine time till you learn how to not act like a rookie.Rocchio is a bigger clown than Arias.

I wonder what happened with Lively last night. He seemed to be pitching OK then got lit up for a grad slam and they were rapping him pretty well when the Guardians took him out,. Hope it's an issue with mechanics and not something more serious. he didn't seem to be injured. He did, however, look very "exercised" in the dugout after they took him out. (as in, not happy with himself)He definitely seems to have his head planted in his posterior more often than a starting MLB SS should. He can certainly be frustrating to watch at times.
Speaking of frustrating how about being a Pirate fan right now? I knew that the Pirates were swept by the Cubs in their last series but I didn't look at the box scores of any of the games. Last night Matt Underwood said that the Pirates had 39 hits and scored 23 runs in that 3-game series. In last night's game they had 12 hits and scored 8 runs which of course means Pittsburgh has put up 51 hits and scored 31 runs in their last 4 games and lost them all. The Guardians need to go out and win the series today.
GO GUARDS!

Correct on Lively. I saw him several times last year as he was on the Reds. Not the most talented guy but a smart pitcher and a real fiery guy who really battles. He was just PO'd at himself. He was absolutely steamed in the dugout but I do think he was just pissed at himself for not stopping the bleeding. I don't know if that ridiculous play by Roccio messed him up but he said all the right things about it in the post game interview I saw. He did seem to unravel after that play but that's baseball and he can't let that affect him. I don't know that it did but as you said he was pitching pretty well until that happened and then he got hammered. We don't know how the inning would have played out if Roccio just throws the ball to 1st base like he should have but worse case the Pirates would have had 1 less run.
Guardians need to get the bats going. They're wasting a fine performance by Boyd tonight.
Honestly Arias would be a better option.
Tellez hammers us uh-gain. It feels like the party's over tonight for the Guardians.
The good news is, the Royals and Twins are also losing
Tena would look awfully good there right now.Rocchio is a bigger clown than Arias.

It bugged me last night when Naylor got doubled off 2nd when Lane Thomas' apparent extra -base hit off the top of the wall was caught. I know it's an aggressive mistake and mostly unavoidable, but still, it is frustrating. Killed what felt like could have been a rally inning.
Who made the error that led to the Pirates unearned run?
