Lawrence 'Larry' Dolan, the long-time owner of the Cleveland Guardians, passed away at the age of 94. Dolan, who purchased the team in 2000 from Richard Jacobs, is celebrated for providing the franchise with its longest ownership tenure. Under his stewardship, the Guardians reached the MLB postseason nine times in 24 years, showcasing his commitment to competitive baseball despite criticisms over financial investments. His son, Paul Dolan, has been involved with the team's management. The Cleveland community and baseball fans have expressed their deep condolences, recognizing Larry Dolan's significant contributions to both the sport and the city.

First, RIP Larry Dolan. Thanks for keeping the team in Cleveland and being faithful to your hometown.

Second, here's hoping that this is the start of a transition to a less frugal ownership group with the same loyalty to NEO, whether they be new or the next generation of Dolans.
