Cleveland Browns 2024 Edition

Yep, in the moment I can't help but root for a win.

Funny how hat awful line looked decent yesterday with only one change (the guy that lined up behind the center).
Teller activation and musical chairs linemen ? Chubb wk 2 ?

We may get Watson back one more time post-rehab, with KDorsey calling his plays, and be told it's "gonna be different this time"...... Winston is a "Kevvy QB". The timing of giving up play-calling is bizarre enough to make me wonder why. Don't get too excited

Winston's history tells us he is not a decent every day NFL QB. He is, however, an occasionally decent NFL QB which is leaps and bounds better than the POS that was playing the position. Much like Winston's game, the rest of the season will have its ups and downs where previously we only had the downs.

But you have to believe that if Winston had started every game this year, they would at least be 4-4.

What impressed me was how he spread the ball around to the receivers, much like Flacco did. And against a team
that most say is one of the top in the NFL.

Whatever his best is, it's happening in 12 or 13 personnel under center in most scenarios. Winston signed here wanting Kevin calling plays for him, he's said it.

If we have some greater success with Dorsey calling plays in Kevin's Offense+, we will likely hear MKC trying to minimize public concerns over "Watson 3.0" by saying, "Ken Dorsey will be calling plays for DeShaun this time, so I believe...." some day. Haslam is going to be spending much, even if there's no cap involved on most of it.

Our receivers need a sign in "their room" that says, "He throws jump balls. Fight for every one of them, you puzsy"

Yesterday wasn't a good look for Kevin. Turns over the playcalling duties and the offense explodes. He may have been trying to scapegoat Dorsey but might have scapegoated himself.

It was nice to not have to watch cutsey trick plays blow up in our face for once.
Agree about the trick play thing, but the offense took off last year without Watson, but with Stefanski calling the plays. It seems the without Watson part is the key to success.

Yeah, this really just proves how bad Watson is. He is a shell of his former self and I'll be surprised if he ever plays another down in the NFL.

There is a distinct possibility that Watson has played his last game in a Cleveland uniform. A very real chance he is on IR next year and in 2026 the Browns move on from him. However, the Browns $$$ cap cost is not going anywhere the next two years.

Who would be willing to give Watson a chance at a backup role in 2026? Obviously he is not a NFL starter at this point in his career nor two years older & coming off a major injury. Perhaps a Miami with a brittle Tua as their starter? Who knows if Watson will even want to try to play. Only thing for certain, Watson will cash $232 mil from the Browns minus taxes, legal fees and settlements with various women.

Announcers on yesterday's game had the classic line. Something like, "With Winston, you can expect to get 'four' every game, meaning some combination of TDs and INTs" The Ravens really messed up that number with a couple dropped INTs, so we "only" got the 3 TDs. ;)

Right. I just don’t see anyone taking on the sideshow that came to Cleveland with him. Obviously, that noise gets much quieter in a smaller contract, but still.

Either a case of unbridled optimism or an example of Drugs are Bad. Certainly not going to happen after Stefanski returns DTR to the starting lineup to see " what he can do."
It's what you'd expect them to say. They're certainly not going to come out at this point and say the season is over, we have no chance to ever make the playoffs (even if that's the truth).
