Cavs 2023-24

Ty Jerome might have been correct.

The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t seem too happy with the officiating after Sunday’s come-from-behind win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Ty Jerome was most vocal with his criticism. He went as far as saying the referees were “really bad” and singled out one official in particular for what he felt were poor calls.

Those complaints seem to have merit, at least in the close of the game. According to the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report, the officiating crew missed two crucial calls. Both of which went against Cleveland.

Probably. But I'm sure he knew a fine was coming for his comments, regardless.

I'm happy they have come back in the last three games to post wins but I am a little concerned with how they seem to be coasting for 3 quarters.

Brian wants to replace our All-Star point guard with a guy who averages fewer points and assists per minute played and turns the ball over at nearly an equal rate per minute played. Genius.

Jerome may well win Most Improved this year. He certainly deserves it but the Cavs don't determine their lineup by seeing who let down Brian's fantasy team 3 years ago.

Not sure why you guys let him irritate you so much!

Let’s not forget, this is post-All Star game time. Everyone steps it up a notch. These are the games the Cavs have been losing the last three years. The fact they are winning is worth noting. Hopefully this team is finally developing the grit needed for a long playoff run.

After the game, Love confirmed what many had hoped: his No. 0 will one day hang from the rafters in Cleveland, a permanent reminder of his impact on the franchise.

“I look in the mirror and think, where’d the time go?” said Love. “Eight and a half great years in Cleveland. My number will, because I’ve been told, will eventually go up there next to Nick Gilbert.”

“It was certainly emotional,” he said. “My wife and I had talked about it last night and today. Cleveland and Ohio and this organization will always mean a lot to me. I’ll always come back. ... Just a lot of love for so many people here.

I get it … I just like Jerome … I don’t think he should start or be an all-star … but he is a key ingredient for the bench

I think the world of Jerome too. He's been a valuable contributor and a big part of the Cavs' success. I think he's in a perfect role for him, a strong sub off of the bench as a combo guard that can play the point or off the ball. I just don't think he's a starter over Garland, a guy the coaches and players named an All-Star.

Chuck blasts ESPN over NBA coverage, citing the lack of coverage for the Cavs and Thunder; blasts Kendrick Perkins.

Barkley rattled off a fiery rant during Thursday’s Inside the NBA – which will be sublicensed by ESPN next year as part of a settlement with TNT Sports. He called out “fools on the other network” and specifically called out Perkins for his thoughts on the Lakers. Barkley’s point was more about other great teams, such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder, not getting the credit he thinks they deserve on ESPN airwaves. He said the network cycles through the same topics while talking about the NBA.

'The season’s been going great for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Y’all just want to talk about the Warriors and the Lakers."

“They’re both doing great. Don’t get me wrong. If I turn out to be wrong, I’ve got no problem with that. But y’all are idiots because y’all talk about the Lakers and the Warriors all the time. The Cleveland Cavaliers have won 12 straight games. Oklahoma City’s got the MVP and they are on fire. Y’all are talking about who’s in second place. That’s the reason I get pissed.”

I kinda like the Cavs flying under the radar … less pressure this way.

Always liked Chuck as a player and person. Got to meet him out on the town when he was a player and we were all still young. He was hilarious and fun to be around.

Interesting take:

The GM of Milwaukee wanted to hire Kenny Atkinson, but was vetoed by "meddling" Jimmy Haslam who wanted Doc Rivers. Maybe Haslam will bring a championship to Cleveland after all.

I did not realize Haslem got into the NBA ownership game. That’s very, very unfortunate for Milwaukee. Luckily they got a ring before he took over.

Just have to love that scoring balance. Mitchell is unlike most superstars in that he does not seem to mind not being top dog every game. He seems genuinely happy with the team wins.
