Cavs 2023-24

Mobley is big time defensively protecting the bucket and offers a ton of versatility, but man he is just too weak to apply and finish skills offensively against physical competition.

He probably needs to gain at least 20 pounds if he's ever going to fully develop as an offensive threat.
He shows the glimpses of incredible skills that makes you drool over what you hope he can become if he can put on just a little more weight.

Well, I turned it off after the first quarter and went to church. Joke's on me.
So you’re the one? Thanks! Many times when my team is losing I try the old channel change trick and more often than not my team has come back. I didn’t do it today, so many thanks to you for doing it for us. And you can never go wrong going to church.

In this series, at least when I've watched, it felt like there were easily 2-3 times a game where he was in the process of making a nice move in the paint only for it to result in an empty possession due to him getting bumped, tied up, etc. It feels like he leaves a lot of potential points on the floor due to lacking enough strength.

It's frustrating to watch at times, but I'm convinced that if he can add the mass that he already has the skills and the footwork to make a good jump in offensive production.

This was 100% the heart, will and leadership of Donovan Mitchell. He is playing on a knee that is way less than 100% and he scored what, 89 or 90 points in game 6 and 7. The second most in NBA history in a game 6 and 7, I believe.

Donovan is a bulldog with the heart of a champion. Those of you stupid enough to criticize him know who you are, led by the head clown brian1227.. You all should apologize and never post again.

Mitchell flipped the superstar switch the last couple games. Anyone still think he can't wait to get out of Cleveland?

Say what you want about Mobley on offense, he just dropped 16 boards and 5 blocks in a game 7 vs a long physical Magic team. The offense will come, you can't teach effort and will. I think it's crazy to suggest moving on from a 22 year old with his potential.

Right…we are starting year 4 in September and he hasn’t gained an ounce. Is he holding out thinking he is actually a 4? He is not and never will be…he COULD BE a good, maybe great 5 if he put on 25 pounds…outside of his blocks he was simply out muscled all series and really the regular season as well. If he shows up at camp at 215 and bricking 3’s then he has to sit. If we had an actual 4 that could shoot we could be deadly.

I don’t think anyone other than Brian wants to trade Mitchell, but if they had lost this game a complete blow up would be fine with me. Thankfully, they won. I stick with my build around Mitchell and Mobley, but I’m still not sold on JB and I still see Allen and Garland as trade assets if the right deal presents itself. I’m just glad they get another series. Mitchell is a stud.

I see Garland and Mobley as trade bait…try to get a real 4 and a guard with some strength…like a Suggs. Garland is fine regular season but playoff basketball is way different…100% more physical. Skinny won’t cut it in May and June.

I don't think Garland ever really rebounded this year post jaw injury. Lost some weight early on with his mouth wired shut for a month, and I think psychologically he looks very tentative attacking the basket.

He was a whole lot better the last two years than he was this season.

And finally get rid of Okoro.

He needs to just stop trying to “muscle” anyone … he was pushed out of the paint by both Harris and Suggs … stick to his quickness … also I wish he would just develop a mid range jumper … he never shoots them … make people come out and guard him & use his quickness to go around them … I have no doubt he can develop into a really good player (how long?) … I have my doubts if it will be anything more than good … just don’t is a dog in him … and to me, he is hardly untouchable like some on here seem to think.

The best thing I saw today was LaVert … as much as his helter-skelter play drives me crazy … the Cavs need him playing well … he allows Mitchell to get some rest …and provides a spark off the bench.

To compound my idiocy, as I was going out the door, I thought I could record the game, but then I considered "Why should I look at an Orlando blowout of the Cavs?" At least Tom 48 provided a lot of the high lights. Thanks Tom.

You are welcome. Here's another article

If he isn't going to get stronger, he does need to face up more in the mid range. Actually wish they'd play through him some at the elbow to utilize his passing.

LeVert was good today. Would love to see more of that.

Aided in part by actually playing a 7 game series, but in the first round Mobley contested 36 more shots and had 10 more blocks than any other player. Second most loose ball recoveries.

With Porzingis out, the Cavs long and lean duo could actually give the Celtics major problems defensively IMO if Allen heals up from his vaginitis. Boston doesn't have near the frontline size and athleticism as Orlando. In the paint they basically have an old Al Horford that's on the short side of height/length plus a 7 foot stiff that comes off the bench.

If you still prefer Allen over Mobley your opinion is null and void. Heart matters. So does 16 boards and 5 blocks against a much bigger team.

You mean the guy that got Banchero under control in the second half?

Sorry, but you can find more complete players than Okoro, whose offense hasn't improved much over the years. I'm sure, if the Cavs had a do-over, they would not have selected him.

His shot has actually improved markedly.

You can find plenty of guys to score the ball, it's harder to find someone willing and able to take on the challenge of slowing the other teams best scorer.

Okoro is a solid bench player … just you don’t want to get is a solid bench player with the 5th pick in the draft. I would want to keep him if he is willing to take the right price
