Top players returning:
Hailey Keller- (junior, catcher/1st base) 1st Team CVC In conference play, hit .630 (overall .590 on the season). Hit 20 extra bases on the year, while recording 40 RBI's. Keller currently holds the record for 45 hits, the previous record was 40. Her 40 RBI's also holds the record. Her 13 doubles, and 26 runs scored are tied in the history books at Cardinal High School. In the field, she recorded just three errors on 184 total chances.

Megan Ehrhart- (senior, catcher/1st base) CVC Honorable Mention In conference play, hit .350. Megan had one of the toughest jobs, hitting behind Hailey Keller. In the beginning of the season, the coaching staff made a few small changes, and it improved her hitting drastically.

Morgan Soltis- (sophomore, pitcher/outfield) So far this season, Morgan has been our most improved player. When Alaina Rupinski went down with an injury, Morgan was the first person to step up. She has put in a lot of work during the offseason and has shown us how she can be a leader. Morgan is starting to feel comfortable and holds herself and the rest of her team accountable.

Top players lost:
Briana Doolittle (2nd baseman) .304 batting average fielding percentage .831

New impact players:
Kayleigh Duncan- Fr. (IF)

Final Comments:
Our team's biggest challenges that we face this spring are our team's low numbers, and the inexperience that some of our girls struggle with. Due to our low numbers in the program, we don't have a lot of depth in positions. Our team's strengths include girls being coachable. Last year could be frustrating at times, and the girls' perseverance for this season have already shown in a week's practice. Previously mentioned, our non-conference schedule will be a chance for us to compete against some team's that are at our skill level. We can really build off of that. Our coaching staff is really excited to see the growth in our players. We have accomplished the first step in building a solid foundation, the girls are excited to come to practices, and learn! Our coaching staff and players are really determined to have a better chance at competing with teams at our skill level. In a rebuilding stage, it could be frustrating sometimes last year when our girls weren't able to compete with elite teams yet, I think in the next couple of years that we will happen for us!
