Canton McKinley Football 2024

Sounds to me that it's a team of low IQ players football wise. That could be because of players just not being taught the basics of the game of football or the players inability to understand the game of football that's being taught to them. My guess is probably of both that of course is if the coaches know the basics which at this point I highly doubt.
Amen,finally someone said it...BAM!...THANK YOU!

The football team ran into the band. The band kids have been working for a month to perfect Script Ohio. It was quite fortunate that neither a band member nor a player were severely injured. It was, indeed, a show. Coach Hall is a very good man. He’s not a very good coach, however. I’ve only ever posted positivity on here, but I can’t feel that today. The play has declined as the year has progressed.

Strategy wins battles. Logistics wins wars.

You have no idea what your talking about. I was right there. The disgruntled MINORITY doesn't have the balls. Police called, what an idiotic story.

I think coach Hall has lost the lockeroom and some kids don’t want to play for him. It’s Sad cause Mckinley lose a lot of Seniors and next year will be a losing year

It's a community thing. The adults allow the children to run wild from the time they're old enough to pedal a bike, then they're expected to be receptive to discipline? They have the "my parents don't tell me what to do, some stranger sure as hell isn't going to," attitude.

No. You know better than that. Stop.

McKinley will be ok once we get the right coach up there. It’s coming. Just like basketball. There will be a definite contrast between the football and basketball season.

Last night was embarrassing in more ways than than one. The inability to play football without 100+yards of penalties and disrupting their own bands performance. The Coaches and team members embarrassed themselves. Next week will emphasize how bad this program has become.

PUPSBAND, Good to see you back on these threads! Hope your two sons are doing well. You were a proud Band parent, and my family enjoyed your shared Band insights.

Speaking of the Band, I just spent two hours reading the many posts on Facebook regarding the football team running into the Band. There are MANY band parents and chaperones who are rightfully angry over this incident.

I am impressed by their plans to complain to the BOE, the Superintendent, and Principals, etc. The Band people want this wrong corrected.

For interested individuals, there are several places to watch film over on Facebook. I hope there is an acceptable resolution.

Good luck to our Band, sam
NO ONE RUNS ON THE BAND!!!!!!!!!!

I usually attend most McKinley football games... the Jackson game I missed... sorry I could not see it in person.

I am concerned now because it appears that there was more than ONE incident on the field at the game.... There was ONE pre-game incident... AND, At Half Time, a second problem occurred as the Band was finishing their program, and the football team at the same time came back onto the field to warm up.

It seems that the two groups then again came too close to each other... And, there was a second "reaction"... The Band cut short their song, and came off the field earlier than they had wanted.

Now, there are more hurt feelings because of TWO incidents. As a result, the Band usually plays spirited songs DURING the game - which adds to the excitement and atmosphere on the field - NOT Now. I understand that the Band barely played and did not join in the cheering while they were in the stands. Feelings of disrespect to the Band are HIGH!

It will be interesting what happens on Monday when everybody shows up for school. There are calls for protests, apologies, punishment, resignations, etc. Emotions are running deep.

In my opinion, based on the accounts of have read and also from the films I have viewed, our football head coach has a lot of explaining to do.

I love our football PUPS, and have the greatest respect for our Band. TOGETHER they make a great experience for the fans. I hope a peaceful resolution can be achieved.

Good luck to all, sam

I have never seen where some of the football players sound almost as if they were bullying the band. This is the first time IN my lifetime I’ve heard of something like this at McKinley. This football program is at its lowest. Such a shame.

Mck, I hate bullies ... I hate them with a passion... and when I saw the film of football players running into band members I was enraged. I hope the band parents demand an apology And responsible adults are reprimanded/suspended. Just maybe then the concept of Discipline can sink into this football program. I will be interested on how this all plays out on Monday for the TWO incidents at Friday's game. sam

There need to be a Culture Change at McKinley this the Worst I ever seen it… I think the coaches and kids checked out kind of Sad
I have to say this. And many people may not want to hear this. But a lot of this chaos and bad spirit in football is bad karma coming back from pizza gate. You cannot lie and hold back information on innocent men. I don’t know what role Hall played in that whole situation as AD, but he did something. Until those men get justice, football will suffer. Again, like I said before, basketball will be a huge contrast. It is what it is.

One or two of those pizza gate coaches were youth ministers. They were some good men. God is not pleased. Whoever was involved with taking them down are going to have some bad fall out. God is bigger than any man. We need to remember that and he will repay evil. This is bigger than us.

There is NO justification in keeping Hall as the football HC at McKinley. I've posted before that Hall needs to go AND the staff, and this includes the brain-dead foul-mouthed coaches at the freshman and 8th grade levels. Clean house!! Change the culture!! Many Bulldog football fans and supporters over the past several years have stated that if only 30 kids were on the varsity, but played clean and disciplined football, even if the Pups were not competitive for a few years, do it!! Change the culture!! Clean house!! Enough is enough!!

... This is bigger than us.

Mck, I agree with this thought on the importance of ALL OF US. We ALL matter, and if some of us are diminished, then our whole group can not move forward.

The McKinley Community is more than just ONE of it's parts. Cheerleaders, band members, students, teachers, staff, AND the football team, ALL need to be successful at the same time.

This "BAND GATE" issue from last Friday needs to be fairly addressed. We can not have one group left suffering while the rest of us move on separately. History has taught us that it just does not work that way.

Let's get this Band Gate issue resolved out in the open. Good luck to all of us, sam

So God is punishing the kids in the program today who had nothing to do with Wattley and his coaches being fired, while the superintedent who actually did the firing continues to make a 6 figure salary?
That makes sense.

So I have a question about the band incident during script Ohio…. Does anyone know why the football players would want to just interrupt and run through the band like that? Or was it just really poor timing of running out and nothing necessarily with bad intent? I just don’t see why the players would mess around with their own band?

How could you mistake the band being on the field when they were playing and marching? I don't understand it either but, I know the Mck team isn't blind or deaf.

It was at the meeting today! But he’s going to coach the rest of the season but he’s done after the season… Hope we get Hoban Coach
I have no idea why someone would leave a cozy job at Hoban where they can recruit from wherever to the mess at McKinley. I just want a coach who brings pride and discipline back to the program. Even if the talent level isn’t there give us someone who helps develop discipline and character in these young men

They wouldn't no way in hell

Why the quick jump to a minority coaching candidate?? Yes, the majority of the McKinley player roster is black, but that shouldn't be the driving factor. If you apply that stupid argument then fire Kevin Stefanski as HC of the Browns, given that 85% of the Browns roster is black. Regardless of color or ethnicity, let's hope the next HC at Canton McKinley will bring back Bulldog pride, discipline and a positive culture. Moreover, hire a HC who has head coaching experience, and a track record of head coaching success. Another point, no coach on the current staff should be considered for the head coaching position. That would be self-defeating mistake. A special committee should be formed to conduct a very thorough search and vetting process. One other point, just because someone played football for McKinley, and perhaps was even a star player, doesn't automatically qualify that individual as being the next head coach. That kind of myopic thinking is what contributes to the current train wreck called Canton McKinley football!!

We don’t even know if the above post is true about Hall leaving yet. I’m not relying only on one source on Yappi saying they were at a meeting with no other way to verify said information. Time will tell
