Have seen this kid battle since he was young and now to see his hard work paying off is refreshing and awesome. He has always worked hard through the obstacles he faced. He was the best guy in D-II IMO (with all due respect to the guys who won but he just was) for three years in a row, but his sophomore year he was upset by Brian Dean in a great match whom he beat later in free style, then his junior year he had an unexplainable collapse at state but never heard him make excuses just always saw him working hard. Two years ago at this time he had yet to win a state title, and Eric Grajales of Florida was considered by some the nation's best high school wrestler (though more informed people would have said David Taylor). At the Las Vegas Open Stephens beat Grajales 6-4 and went on to place 4th in Las Vegas. Hope to see him at the NCAA's and AA.
