We have seats in row 18. The seats in that section that are for sale are still at or slightly above face. But why would Oregon come to the game, they know that they are likely playing in the Rose Bowl next. And in the end, it’s all about TV revenue. We won’t be lucky enough for them to do away with this farce of a championship game.
It seems like more and more people are becoming wise to the farce/charade of unionized content producers posing as athletic conferences.

Doubtful on the schedule. But then so too was it tougher than what Tressel or Meyer had to play? Day is young and learning and has shown that he will make necessary changes.
In Coopers first three seasons, the non conference schedule consisted of games with Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, LSU and two games each with USC and Boston College. I don't see Marshall or the MAC on those schedules.

Well, it only happened this year. Exposed by the fact that they stupidly went to a 12 team playoff with byes. I mean Boise st, who recruits at a level with the bottom 3 teams in the B18, playing in a league where they are the top in recruiting, gets elevated into the top 4 with a bye. lol. We have some how gone from a bowl system that made little sense to something that in some ways is even dumber.

Well, it was the same for Tress and Meyer then. Day is young, really dumb to boot the current winningest coach in college football, I mean really dumb.

Winningest coach against whom? Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers and the MAC? What's his record against Michigan? What's his record against Oregon? What's his record in the postseason?

lol, a 16 game difference? And at what point was he done rebuilding? Even if you remove his first few years, he still isn’t as good as Day. And you can’t erase the fact that cooper had already been a head coach for 11 years.
Cooper had to completely rebuild the roster. Earle Bruce was doing terrible in recruiting towards the end

It’s like people only care about the record vs actual meaningful wins. Right now Ryan IMO has 3 quality wins his entire time at OSU. 2019 @michigan, 2020 Clemson, and 2023 @ Notre Dame. This is a garbage ROI for a coach who’s been here for 6 years.

Bruce lost it in recruiting those last few years. The seniors on the 87 team were the last strong class Bruce brought in. The talent level, outside of Uhlenhake and Workman, on that 1988 team was rather weak.

Yes. Least talented OSU teams right there in the last 60 years

PSU and Oregon are both teams that, historically, don't win the big game; but someone has to win this one.

Amazing how much better Drew Allar got in one season. He is 3 times the QB Will Howard is. Allar would make this OSU team so much better but at the same time Ryan Day never won with NFL QBs in Fields and Stroud either

Penn State did better than I expected. Offensively, they ended up filling it up.

James Franklin did James Franklin things. Went for 2 with a lot of game time left after scoring to cut it to 8, as opposed to kicking it, and then if they scored again, going for 2 to go for the win.

How sad is it for the Big Ten to have a brand new team win the conference in year one? lol
It was entirely predictable that one or more of the West Coast teams would take over the conference. It’s like Europeans showing up to North America and wiping out the more primitive Native Americans.

Ah, we are entering the "peak boredom" period of the college football offseason. Time to try and jump start some discussion about the upcoming Big 10(18) season. 2024 sees the addition of four former PAC 12 teams and the opportunity to qualify more than one school in the new 12 team playoff. So maybe the best question to ask is who qualifies for the CFP rather than who wins the conference championship.

Ohio State and Oregon are obvious choices, but Michigan, PSU, USC, and Washington cannot be discounted. Even Nebraska, Iowa, Rutgers, and Wisconsin have reason for optimism. Could 4 teams from the Big make it?

So cast your votes and please offer your thoughts in the comments.
WHY in the name of Knute Rockne, did these idiots start the playoffs TWO MONTHS after the championship weekends?

And Is Greg Sanki tied at the hip with the BIGGIE TEN? Wouldn't surprise me, when he gave us the toughest damn schedule in the COUNTRY, in an attempt to knock us out before we got started!

Anywho, for those Biggie Ten guys praying for a NORTHERN exposure for the playoffs. LOOKS as though ALL FOUR got your wish. While our FIRST Game is FIFTEEN hours away in NAWLINS!

GEEEEEZ, discounting NEBRASKA? Nebraska came REAL close to sending THE Ohio State to the TURLET BOWL!

And refs kept G. Tech from sending your Dawgs to the TURLET BOWL
Actually, a bad call by their offensive coordinator after they got half the distance. High paid people trying to show they earn the high pay with an overly complicated, we're going to fool the defense play when you have the world's largest QB that's been pushing the line even when they know he's coming.

GTech made one bad call and paid for it with a loss.

Whoa, the traditionals should have been way more suspicious that Amazon delivery of hand-woven blankets. The Boilers did look good in them though.

Herbstreit names best student section:

Kirk Herbstreit handed out several honors on Friday night, conducting the 2024 edition of his annual Herbie Awards on ESPN.

Herbstreit recognized several superlatives following the conclusion of the 2024 season, including the best student section in college football.

Herbstreit took the booth for countless electric college football matchups throughout the 2024 season. But according to the longtime "College GameDay" analyst, one student sections stands a clear cut above the rest.

"Come on, it's a no-brainer. There's a lot of great student sections out there, but the Penn State student section — general admission — they're in there two hours before the game starts. They're as good as there is, especially for the 'White Out.' We love the Penn State student section," Herbstreit said on Friday.

Tonight was an absolute embarrassment for Indiana and possibly the conference. Not only did Indiana appear to be slow, small, and not physical but Curt Cignetti coached like Ryan Day which is the biggest sin when you lack talent everywhere. The guy is looking to be where he belongs for sure which is in the Big Ten where collectively the conference lacks good coaches. The game plan tonight was just absurdly bad and did nothing to get their players in the best position to win.
