Biden Administration is Failing the Voters !

Two Yemenis on Terror Watchlist Arrested Trying to Cross US-Mexico Border

One of the men, age 33, was arrested January 29 after allegedly attempting to cross the border illegally near a port of entry in Calexico, California, CBP said.

Border agents found a mobile phone SIM card beneath the insole of the man’s shoe, the agency said.

The second man, age 26, was arrested March 30 in the same vicinity.

A CBP spokesman said in a written statement that it is very uncommon for border agents to encounter people suspected of terrorism at U.S. borders and that the arrests underscore the agency’s critical vetting efforts.

The agency did not provide the names of the men.

The watchlist is maintained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Terrorism Screening Center. The list contains “the identities of those who are known or reasonably suspected of being involved in terrorist activities,” according to the FBI.

Thanks Joe and the idiots that voted for him.....

First, a reality check. Spending was up sharply last year, and will likely be up at least 50% this year. Yet, even the tax hikes now being discussed won’t come close to covering the spending increases.

Let’s review: During the pandemic year, the U.S. spent $6.5 trillion, a 47% surge in just one year. This year, we’ve already added about $4 trillion in new spending. Debt is now an unimaginable $30 trillion, and headed much higher. And yes, we have to pay it off, even if we “owe it to ourselves,” as some like to say.

With a deficit of $3 trillion last year and perhaps even higher this year, Americans are soon going to feel the pinch. Yes, the Fed can print more money by buying government bonds. But eventually, it all has to be paid back. And when that happens, the taxes will hit the economy hard, forcing the government to spend more (while crowding out private sector spending and investment), and jack up taxes at the same time.

The $2.3 trillion “Infrastructure” bill only spends $921 billion on what most people would agree is infrastructure. The remainder — $1.38 trillion by our calculation — would go to pet Democrat projects, payoffs to unions and left-wing groups, squirrelly climate change projects, money for misgoverned and impecunious Blue States, and other waste.

Will a tax hike on corporations be enough? In a word, no. Last year, the U.S. collected about $212 billion in corporate taxes, well below the average $246 billion annually since 2000. Corporate taxes are highly cyclical. They don’t just keep growing.

As a simple calculation, if taxes come in at about their recent average, you’ll get only $80 billion more a year with Biden’s corporate tax hikes. But because companies are experts at tax avoidance, it’s doubtful it’ll even be that much.

That’s $1.2 trillion in corporate tax revenues over 15 years. Not $2.3 trillion.

That means the other $1.1 trillion comes from you (we’re not even counting interest). Maybe it’ll come as part of a huge, broad tax hike, already in the works. Or higher inflation. Or higher interest rates, causing prices of homes and other asset prices to fall. Or all of the above.

Imagine that .........

Rachel Levine, assistant secretary of the Biden Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), criticized efforts in some states to ban minors from obtaining transgender drugs and surgeries, saying such bans constitute a “health equity issue.”

During an interview last week with NPR, transgender Levine said bills banning young people from accessing drugs, such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and transgender surgeries, such as elective double mastectomies, as well as bans against males competing in women’s sports are all “really challenging to see.”

Levine, born Richard Levine, said these transgender issues are not political, but very appropriate to address by one of the nation’s top health officials.

“I don’t see it as a political issue at all,” Levine said. “I view this as a health equity issue. This is about fairness and equality and about specifically health equity, which is part of my portfolio. So, I don’t see any risk in terms of politicization of this issue.”

In 2017, Levine delivered an address titled “It’s a Transgeneration: Issues in Transgender Medicine” to an audience at Franklin & Marshall College.

The former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Levine said during remarks that those in the transgender medical industry who are seeing gender dysphoric teens from the “street,” living in homeless shelters, should not go through the usual procedure of first administering puberty blockers to stop normal puberty, but instead immediately prescribe cross-sex hormones.

Levine told listeners that homeless teens who say they are transgender have been “essentially thrown out by their parents because of their gender identity and expression,” and added that “street youth” not living with their parents should not receive puberty blockers but instead “accelerate” with cross-sex hormones “so that the young people feel validated and are getting care consistent with their path.”

The current push is to fix our roads, bridges and other infrastructures. The plan is to pay for it by taxing the rich and corporations. I think Biden’s going to be just fine both issues have and continue to poll well with the American people.

JMO but republicans are making a huge mistake politically by outright refusing to play ball on infrastructure.
You are naive enough to believe only the rich will pay increased taxes.

What happens when you increase corporate taxes...prices go up , jobs get cut....other than that what could go wrong?

They'll use it to stoke fear as justification for the fortification of the Capitol "remember when that guy rammed his car into a checkpoint and started waving a knife around" hoping people will forget the details.

A guy who doesnt understand genetics is the number 2 at HHS...simply amazing.

"said these transgender issues are not political" ironically he got the job for strictly political reasons.

What happened when we cut corp. taxes from 36% to 21%? Deficit exploded, rich got richer, Wall St. make bank, workers got crumbs, prices did not go down, and gdp barely budged. Then 2 years later they needed a bailout. And oppose a min. wage increase. Awesome.

What happened during the ENTIRE Obama administration?

Corporations held on to record amounts of capital, stifling expansion, and job growth.

Trump lowered the corporate rate, and those things took off.

Unfortunately actual facts present a different comparison on job, market, and deficit performance than your alternative facts. While also expanding healthcare to millions. And he inherited a depression. Trump inherited one of the longest bull runs in our history. Obama adm. had 0 indictments in 8 years, and brought stability. Trump brought a clown car, nepotism, constant turnover, one of the most corrupt and dishonest admins in presidential history.

Speaking of healthcare I don't even want to imagine the past year had Pubs successfully knocked millions off insurance.

Who paid for the health care expansion, and how?

Obama oversaw the longest ramp up to a better economy than any President in history following a recession.
Translation: he did a poor job of helping the economy recover in a timely fashion.
Maybe that's why the 2010 midterms were a disaster for the Democrat party.

BTW, 2008 was caused by lending money to people that had no business owning a house.

Agreed. Extremely loose and often predatory lending with lack of oversight. Combined with gov. politicians getting drunk off housing bubble. Combined with multi-trillion $$$ war, deficit spending, and spiraling healthcare and energy costs.

At least one Democrat seems reasonable.......
I think Manchin is borderline reasonable. Remember he has to answer to his voters in a Very Red state. If he likes being a Senator he’ll toe the line. If he’s replaced it won’t be by a Democrat.

Crumbs..... ?

Please listen to someone other than Nancy.

When both sides decide to cut spending.... not cut the increase in spending from the prior years...... then and only then will the deficit drop.

CNN better tread lightly....
The press can make inept people look good, or turn on them and bring them down.

Let's hope that happens to Biden and Co.

Stimulus Bill passed. Covid is under control. Economy is improving. Infrastructure is on its way. Despite the GOP spreading lies about it. The broader needs to be under control but the only ones really worried about that is the GOP’ers! Most Americans have other things to attend to for their own well being. Most approve of the country’s direction. You guys tag on ol Joe but he is actually doing things with class or presidential as we have from most presidents regardless of party affiliation. I also like Jen Psaki she can handle the press!

Covid is under control? Is that the new narrative? Michigan seems to be sucking right now.
