Anyone ever write a book or a short story?

Just curious if anyone on here has written a book or a short story (or screen play, etc.). If so, what was your experience like? Was it worth it?

And no, I'm am not counting some of the longer posts on here as books or short stories...

Just articles. The editor made some changes one time and another editor sent it back with suggestions before resubmitting... my english teacher warned me...
