I mean, USC (2-5 in Big Ten) beat LSU.

But you enjoy that big W, we are happy for you.

Stop Milroe from running and it’s over for you. Even lowly Vandy was able to do that.

It’s way too early to bury him. He’s won everywhere he’s been. Let’s see what happens soon when he restocks the cupboard after all the post-Saban retirement talent defections.
Weak excuse. They brought in the #2 HS recruiting class, #3 portal class and only lost a couple of impact players who would have seen the field at Alabama this year. And given how they have recruited it should have been next man up.

It would have been a valid excuse if they lost 1-2 games against good SEC teams.

DeBoer will be fine going forward. He’s installing a new system. Let’s see how it goes when he gets in more of his guys, which between high school and the portal could be a significant amount. He’s not going to ever win like Saban did, though. That era is over for everyone. Now it’s how much bag money you have to spread around.

You still need to give him a couple of years. We took Downs and Sayin from him. Sayin is likely better than Milroe.

I’m not saying he’s a bust there, but given the pure mass of talent they have brought in there isn’t really a good excuse for 3 losses especially to teams like Vandy and Oklahoma.

I expect DeBoer to be relatively successful, but it’s important to remember that Bama was pretty mid and largely irrelevant on the national landscape for a good 15 years pre-Saban.

If he’s just “pretty good”, it’s not going to be anywhere near good enough and he’s not going to last very long.

They’ve had so many de commitments and transfers out of the program. Now Caleb Downs is also transferring and Kadyn Proctor is being rumored to be following suit.

I actually feel kind of bad for them because I dislike Georgia much more than Bama.
WHY do you dislike GEORGIA so much? Just because we have beaten your Buckaroos nearly as much as that watermelon head up North, don't be a HATA! Alabumble has pulled three games out of their asses against my Bulldawgs, in the last five years. It took an EIGHTY YARD RUN by a FRICKING SEVENTEEN YEAR old as time expired, to do the deed THIS last time. NOBODY, until the aberration at Old Mississippi, had beaten us in the last five years, other than the LUCKIEST GOAT on EARTH!
And NOW, IF we by some quirk of fate, were to beat the NUMBER ONE team in America, for the SECOND time, we will travel to the A*%HOLE of the earth to play a glorified high school team in Nitty Valley.

Speaking of Downs. Did you know that there is more big time talent coming from a twenty mile area of Gwinnett County, Georgia, than there is in OHIO? (Seth Mc Laughlin, Caleb Downs, K.J. Bolden, Luke Nickel, Christian, Justice Haynes, Hancock, Air Noland, Anlive, Thurman, and future Heisman winner, Travis Hunter) At least ELEVEN players playing Power Five football, within bicycling distance of ATHENS! And MOST go to what you boys say is the university in the GREATEST state for high school football, in AMERICA!

I’ve always hated Georgia and the SEC.

Ohio football is an absolute dumpster fire right now. That’s not saying much

I didn’t say anything about Downs.

Idk, during the kirk herbstreit challenge years the state was right there with Florida, not it struggles to compete with Alabama.
In terms of teams, perhaps.

I mean in terms of recruits/prospects. Although while I’d say that peaked in the 70s, there was a major fall off after the late 2000s/early 2010s that I’d say coincides with the best in-state teams really struggling against national opponents.

All of those states have gained enormous population while Ohio and Pennsylvania have flatlined. Heck Alabama’s state population has increased roughly 50% since 1970, while Ohio and Pennsylvania have only seen growth of 8-10%. The school age population in those places has skyrocketed while it’s declined in the Midwest.

I remember going to see Massillon and Ignatius play in the 01 playoffs and both teams had around 9-10 guys going division one with 2-3 going to Big Ten level teams. Now they have 2-4 guys going D1 with one or no Big Ten level players.

Very sad times in Ohio football
