2025 Senior World Team Trials (for men's freestyle and women's freestyle) is next weekend, May 16th and 17th in Louisville. Great opportunity to see some freestyle wrestling if you have a free couple of days and can make your way down there! No 57kg or 61kg for men's freestyle, but if you wrestled at those weights you can bump up to 65kg (Marcus Blaze has registered there).

You do need to qualify for trials- there are several ways to do so, I would guess between 10-15 wrestlers are qualified at each weight (if you want a full list, let me know).

Wrestlers registered so far, Ohio guys highlighted:

65kg- Marcus Blaze, Seth Gross, Real Woods, Brock Hardy, Bo Bassett, Aden Valencia, Carter Young, Jesse Mendez, Beau Bartlett, Nick Lee
70kg- Will Lewan, James Green, Ridge Lovett, PJ Duke, Bryce Andonian, Jackson Arrington, Brayton Lee, Antrell Taylor, Caleb Henson, Ian Parker
74kg- Quincy Monday, Edward Scott, Jarrett Jacques, David Carr, Elroy Perkin, Michael Caliendo, Peyton Hall, Joey Blaze, Terrell Barraclough
79kg- Kennedy Monday, Dean Hamiti, Carson Kharchla, Simon Ruiz, Muhamed McBryde, Ethan Riddle, Levi Haines
86kg- Marcus Coleman, Chance Marsteller, Parker Keckeisen, Kyle Dake, Carter Starocci
92kg- Patrick Brophy, Michael Macchiavello, Eric Schultz, Dustin Plott, Aeoden Sinclair, Jacob Cardenas, Josh Barr
97kg- Gavin Hoffman, Christian Knop, Jay Aiello, Ethan Laird
125kg- Christian Lance, Jordan Wood, Demetrius Thomas, Hayden Zillmer, Trent Hillger, Lucas Stoddard

So - 57 and 61 are locked up with Lee getting Lilledahl at 57, and Vito facing Forrest at 61 in FinalX? That forced Blaze to try to qualify by moving up - where he will have his hands full for sure.

The others to Final X to face the winners of those listed above (and others) would be:

65 - Joey McKenna (win over Mendez in finals)
70 - Yianni D (wind over Green)
74 - Messenbrink (win over Carr)
79 - Evan Wick (win over Hamiti)
86 - Valencia (win over Dake) (Why is Dake not listed above?)
92 - Hidlay (win over Aiden Sinclair) (also not listed)
97 - Snyder (win over Aiello
125 - Hendrickson (win over Thomas)

What's the registration deadline? What website can we look at the entries?
Flowrestling has a list of entires - but most have been captured above. Not sure about registration deadline. Dake still not entered, but I also assume he will be. Not like he has to worry about cutting a lot of weight to get in at 86. Below is their list as of this morning:

Thought this was interesting. Current World rankings by weight and country. Only listed the #1 regardless of country - then all the ranked US wrestlers by weight class. Only Spencer Lee is listed as #1 for the US. For what its worth:

No Steveson? Wonder if he would have entered this or the Open had he won at NCAAs 💁‍♂️.
Never been an indication Gable wanted to wrestle freestyle this cycle. I don't think he's ever mentioned wrestling besides the Minnesota NCAA 24-25 season. I would love a cycle of Wyatt as the #1 guy and see what we have going into LA 2028- the old guard of 125kg guys are done, that weight is semi-open outside of Iran.

A great list but my guess is these rankings are probably Flo. The seeds will be determined by UWW rankings which are different. Don't have time to do that now. Maybe later. And I do think Flo's list (or whoever) is more accurate. The UWW list is based off of ranking series tournaments.

OK, this is a strange list b/c it has guys who are retired (D Taylor) and guys at wrong weights (Dake at 74). And these will change quite a bit b/c there's a couple of Ranking Series Tournaments left and I think Continental Championships (Pan Ams) count for Ranking Series pts. I'm only listing the #1 at each wt. and USA guys ranked in the top 20.

57 #1 Higuchi JPN
57 #2 Lee USA
61 #1 Ono JPN
61 #6 Arujau USA
65 #1 Amouzadkhalili IRI
65 USA none
70 #1 Aoyagi JPN
70 #9 Green USA
74 #1 Valiev ALB
74 #5 Dake USA
79 #1 Kentchadze GEO
79 #15 Burroughs USA
86 #1 Ramazonov BUL
86 #4 Brooks USA
92 #1 Maisuradze GEO
92 #6 Taylor USA
97 #1 Matcharashvili GEO
97 #3 Snyder USA
97 #18 Macciavello USA
125 #1 Zare IRI
125 #10 Parris USA

I don't think JB is the type to 'fade into the sunset.' I think Mr AllIseeisgold will let it be known when he retires, in nothing short of a spectacle, I'm sure. Which he's earned I'll add.
I figured he's too old to take a year off. However he hasn't posted anything about him training and his coach left so maybe he's done?

Well 97kg might have opened up a bit...can any of those 92kg guys bump up? Would have loved to see Buchanan or even Ferrari, but Jay Aiello is probably going to be the rep

Can they make a special circumstance? I'm sure many didn't register know they aren't beating Kyle. Would Moore have retired? 8 man 97kg bracket at final X. Hey, wrestling governing bodies have been make up stuff on the fly for much less lol.

Don't be surprised if Kyle is still wrestling at X. Max is $500 fine and 60 days in jail. Being his first offense he will probably take a plea to a misdeaner and pay a fine/community service.

Unless USA Wrestling pulls him from competition for morality issues or something, he will probably be wrestling (or if he pulls himself being married and being embarrassed).

Apparently last Friday was just the last day to be entered AND seeded- I was wrong. Rademacher just registered at 97kg today after his gold medal performance at Pan Ams

So do they run a bracket with 5? 8-man bracket, 1 first round match which would be unseeded Rademacher against???... blind draw? The 4 seed? Round robin under 6? Talk about getting an unlucky draw.

Think so- top 4 seeded, Rademacher blind draw as a quarters match. That's miserable for those guys
