I would think you'd much rather be 5th seed and go to Houston vs. falling behind the Chargers and having to go to Baltimore in the 1st round. I'm assuming the Chargers will take care of the Raiders on Sun. if the Steelers lose on Sat. The league would be happy regardless. They get to promote either a "Harbaugh Bowl" (Steeler win) or another Ravens-Steelers rivalry game on wildcard weekend.
 
Thqt 3 person booth for the JV game was awful to listen to...now onto the varsity.

If we don't get any mo going it is another 1st round playoff loss.

Think we can beat the Texans if we get back to hiw we was playing earlier

Steelers won't fire him he is a loyal soldier nor is he the issue. Organization has not much more of a clue (or just doesn't care) on how to win than the Bengals or browns. A washed-up QB behind a bad o-line yeah that leads to success. Ravens are the only organization in the AFC North that knows what it takes to win: good o-line, good defense, and a capable QB.

Agree. It would have been difficult to catch ( he might have run another 5 yds) and get set up for a fg in 15 seconds. This team wasn’t going anywhere in any case. So they play at Baltimore next week lose by 20 and go home.

Does make it easier in us fans.
Back in the day when we had chances to win SBs it was hella stressful in the playoffs.

With no chance it's just one last game to watch and pseudo care about

I’m starting to have my doubts about Tomlin but the Steelers were picked to be 4th (last) in the division so I’ll give some kudos for that. Lots needs fixed however.

I agree there is much room for improvement, butt the talent disparity between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati is pretty stark, so if anything, Cincinnati needs to fire a coach. The Browns need to fire a coach. Tomlin is no X's and O's Wizzard, but he seems to have the ability to bring about team unity.

I thought that loss came down to two players last night. First, Pickens had many drops of balls that were hitting him in the hands or chest.

Then Wilson, he missed open receivers and blew it on the last 30 seconds with one timeout. If they get to the 45 I believe they win by 1.
 
the two biggest issues on this team are

1. the OC. Arthur Smith playcalling is simply atrocious and completely handcuffs Wilson into automatic passing 3rd downs so often. the run/run/pass/punt/repeat is just so vanilla and awful. the toss sweeps, one being to effing 50 year old Cordarelle Patterson in crunch time is just inexcusable and a firable offense, IMO. how do you not have your BEST players (Warren) on the field in crunch time? it's unreal to me. call a QB sneak on 3rd and 1 but can't get it then run your SPEED back up the middle on 4th and 1??? WTF is going on?

2. WR depth - they need to go out and find another LEGIT WR. it seems like Williams (even last night made one) makes some great plays and has some ability still yet we see Van Jefferson on the field way more often. that's a crime as well.

Wilson is NOT the issue. the playcalling and then lack of playmakers on offense at times.

Wilson is a has been.
Fields is a never was.

Pickens is a selfish SOB.

Said it a few times over the yrs.


This team needs to.bottom out. There are some great players but overall well.below average. We need to.bottom out to be able to rebuild this roster. Yrs and yrs of mid range picks just won't get it done.

MT has done too.good of a job in he takes a bad roster and gets.aa.muxh out of.them as possible


The long lasting streaks.we see is when they hit that wall with what they can do with the talent


Until we see a 3 win season, and a couple 4-5 win seasons we will continue to just wallow.near 500

Is the goal to win the AFC North or the Super Bowl? … Maybe this is the reason both have struggled in the playoffs over the past several seasons?
