Regardless, I don't have an issue if a kid chooses to focus only on football (or any other sport), but it should be HIS choice. And like I've said before, one of the things that bothers me with College coaches is how often they talk out of both sides of their mouth. They always publicly claim to favor kids who play multiple sports, but then they'll stop recruiting kids who can't make certain camps in the off season. Even if the reason is the because the kid has obligations for another sport.I think it might have been the result of a vote by the member schools as opposed to a decision by the staff and board of directors.
The Columbus Dispatch wrote a good article last year about what is allowed for football in the offseason and the relatively recent adoption of 7-on-7 teams.
And 7 on 7 is so lame. You can't deduce anything from those events, because you're removing the most important element of play in the sport, which is the Line play. It's easy for a QB to make a bunch of impressive throws when he doesn't have to worry about a giant DL barreling down on him.
