Try outs will be here before you know it!

CHL had some exciting games But saw Coach Daniel and the Indian Hill Braves take the title for back to back years!

They are setup with a LOADED 2027 class to do the same

Here were the 2024 results

IH - 13-1
Wyoming - 12-2
Madeira - 8-5
Reading - 7-7
MM- 6-8
Taylor - 6-8
DP - 2-11
FT - 1-13

COY Daniels (IH) / Back (wyoming)
POY - Rinala (IH)

I can see the League playing out about the same as it did last season. DP/FT never really have prodcued winning baseball in quite some time. Taylor has a strong Soph class of pitching but I would think most will stay on JV level another year. Reading could move up a few spots if Davis is healthy to start the year.

name of the game is its IH's to lose again.
Both IH and Wyoming lose a TON of production from the plate and the mound. IH soph. class is LOADED and shouldn't miss a beat. I dont know what Wyoming had/has at the JV level or moving up. Middle of the league could look different as I think Reading will be better if Davis is throwing early in the season.

DP goes to the bottom IMO. they lost 2 really good athletes in Parsons and Armor. not much waiting in the wings.

Here is my prediction for this up coming season

1- IH
2- Wyoming
3- Reading
4- Madeira
5- Taylor
6- MM
7- FT
8- DP

COY daniel from IH

POY watchlist

Devlan Daniel (IH)
Carson Stevens (wyoming)
Connor Davis (Reading)
Charlie Hess (Reading)

Also worth noting, there hasnt been an athlete since 2012 Win 2 sports POY in the same year (Andrew Benintendi Madeira basketball/ baseball 2012) was the last one to do it.

can Devlan Daniel get Football and baseball this season?

Bumping this back up!

Baseball tryouts will be near!

Indian Hill will be primed for another run at the CHL title.
Does a Healthy Conner Davis help Reading make a run at a title? Stevens and sneed 1-2 combo can they push Wyoming over the top?

Good luck to all the kids in the CHL as they prepare for try outs over the next few weeks!

I wonder how many of the schools actually have to make "cuts" for baseball in the CHL?

I know typically Taylor has always been a cut school. Last year b/c of the # of players being down, they did not make cuts. This year there is a higher # of players at workouts and pre season lifting i would imagine that they have to get back to making cuts.

Wyoming and IH both had 2 JV teams so I would assume they did not have to cut kids (instead added a JV-B team?)

Finneytown and Deer Park I don't believe had the #'s for a JV team so i assume they also did not have to cut.

That would leave Reading , Mariemont and Madeira ? all 3 had JV teams so I would be curious to see

Should be an interesting season! Looks as if there are a few really good arms in the league as well as a few really good bats. This one should come down to coaching and IMO. I think Reading, Mariemont and Madeira will all be much better this year. Wyoming and IH I believe still sit at the top.

IH 2027's are insane.
CHL have LOTS of talent to watch for this year.

IH has to be the favorite.

Wyoming next.

Reading/mariemont/Madeira next

I think Taylor will improve from their win total last year (i think they can win 9-11 games have a decent 2027 class that will help on the mound kantz (starting QB) , todorov and Newbauer on the mound will help)

FT and DP are going to have rough seasons.

Scrimmages should be wrapping up and for some the regular season starts this week!

Taylor has scrimmaged Goshen , Colerain , LaSalle and has purcell later this week. Gets the season kicked off friday vs Sycamore

Deer park has scrimmaged Withrow and northwest where they tied Withrow 8-8 and beat northwest 13-9.
They have a young team but struggle with pitching should be intresting to see how it goes this year

Losing Parsons and Armor will be 2 BIG gaps for DP to fill. Have athletes for sure but not sure how many baseball players they have.
HUGE win last year vs Wyoming

Withrow historically is REALLY bad at baseball , they won 7 games last year vs teams that were a combined 11-23
Northwest just had their HC leave at the end of last season to go to Hamilton

Pretty sure they have about 16 kids this year, so far doing good at the plate but have yet to face the caliber that some chl pitchers bring

One of the most interesting trivia facts about the CHL; Six of the current eight teams in the league have won state championships in baseball. The two that have not… Wyoming and Indian Hill. 🤔

When was the last season a state title was won. Reading in the 80’s?

I dont know if we will ever play baseball down at Taylor for awhile..

IH sweeps Reading. Devlan throw a complete game shutout. 8k's 1 hit

Madeira survives a late push by Mariemont would scored 8 runs in the top of the 7th to win 14-13 (had to score 4 in the bottom to walk it off)
Score going into the 7th was 10-5 madeira
