Larkin was beating Yanni 8-8 on criteria into the last 15 seconds and that last scramble somehow made it 13-8...I will never fully understand FS scoring....

Mendez was all defense in the 1st, was down 3-0 with 2 push outs and a passivity. He must have known Green would gas, because Green definitely gassed and Mendez got 2 late TDs and 1 turn.
Green gassing when down at 65 Kilos is an extremely smart bet. Great at 70, not big enough for 74, to much of a cut for 65, just a classic tweener. For all is international success at 70, he’s never won a match at trials at 65 in multiple attempts

Quarters are completed. Not sure when semis are, especially with the half-semis at 65kg and 86kg (Zain and Zahid getting those 1/2 byes).

Saw a lot of good stuff this round. Forrest, Lilledahl, Larkin, and Mirasola all HS guys looking impressive in defeat. Ageless wonder Dom Bradley beating Wyatt Hendrickson. Daton gets some revenge on Suriano. And hello Jarrett Jacques!

Can anyone explain what happened with McKenna/Bartlett? I saw the challenge at the end and heard the explanation as to why no points. But I missed the challenge/explanation from when McKenna was fighting off of his back, what the heck happened in that sequence?

Just rewatched- my guess is they rules the whole "pinning sequence" as one exposure. I personally disagree, I think it should have been two different exposures, but that's my best guess.

How do the handle the extra semis in the ones that only got byes to semis rather than finals?

Those weights first?
I would have to guess, though I didn't hear anything official. For what it's worth, 65kg and 86kg were the two weights they started with this morning, and those are the two with the half-semi

I wonder how Zain will look with the weight cut. Mendez can go hard the whole time. Avoid gut wrenches and leg laces and play the long takedown game.

I like Alirez over Lee.
