I think I jinxed PSU talking about them possibly being the GOAT. Kasak and Nagao can both come back thru the consos, but neither looked good, Nagao losing to a 23 seed and Kasak losing to a 26 seed. I had both on my PickEm team early on but fortunately changed them.

As I glance at the other pick'em teams, it seems the team with lots of the same guys as my squad goes by the name of Penguin162....... and that gives me a very bad feeling in my stomach!

To be somewhat subjective the 26 seed Kasak lost to is pretty dang tough! Yes, he's seeded at 26th because he has not had a stellar season to date, but he is a previous AA and is pretty talented.

I'll of course be pulling for Bouzakis, but I believe Fix, handles him. McCrone wrestled a good match to Ramos, he's got a tough consi match. Mendez poured it on. D'Emilio looked good. Wilcox wins the pigtail, loses to Haines and has Mauller in the consis. Welsh was fine. Rogotzke reaches back and gets that shoulder whip again turns it into a head lock and gets a fall. Geog doesn't look interested. Feldman looked great and he misses Trephan who was upset by Hill.
Not many surprises in the first round really.

Someone earlier talked about the Starocci risk. Well, he's winning, BUT, and this is a big BUT, he's not looking like his old self. 12-6 over the 24 seed & 5=3 over the 5 seed. The headlines the last few days had him at 100%. I don't think he's 100%. When I picked him I thought that even if he loses and takes 3rd or 4th, that's not bad for a 9 seed. BUT, and this is another big BUT, what if he loses to Lewis (very possible even if he's healthy) and pulls a Spencer (MMFs out of the NCAAs). Then it's not so good of a pick. The only good thing is that misery loves company.

I came out here this morning and was somewhat shocked to see I was in 11th after round 1 - then down to 18th after round 2. I have a feeling that will be the highest I get.

I should have never watched the video where Carter was saying he was 100% and able to do anything he wants on the knee. Then he comes out looking like Marinelli/Spencer Lee with that huge, black, cyborg-leg contraption. Looked pretty limited in his second bout, and I don't think he was trying to fool Lewis. Then my #6 - Arujau - shows up with a huge wrap on his leg.

I guess I'll now a lot more about my chances at around 2 pm today.
