Looks like it will be Hoover vs Lake again in Week 11, this time at Lake. Green will be hosting Riverside a second time (Bulldogs won 17-10 in Week 2). Also, Perry will travel to Colombus Northland in the 8-9 game in Region 7. Jackson and McKinley's seeds are still undetermined.

Looks like Perry’s offense played one of
their better offensive games last night scoring 38 points their highest since scoring 35 Week 1 against Central.

Caleb Hundley had 2 TDS, Connor Shepard had 2 TDS and Kyson Walker had 1.

Perry’s Defense didn’t allow a point.

Week 11 - Playoffs Round 1
D1 Region 1
#13 Brunswick at #4 Jackson
#12 Parma Normandy at #5 McKinley
D2 Region 5
#11 Painesville Riverside at #6 Green
#10 Hoover at #7 Lake
D2 Region 7
#9 Perry at #8 Columbus Northland

Congratulations to Jackson & McKinley for sharing the FLC.
Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs this week, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your point of view, Lake and Hoover are playing again. IMO, Jackson and McKinley will move on to the second round in D-1.
I think Green will regroup and get a win over Riverside, Hoover and Lake part 2, should be interesting and I give a slight advantage to Lake this time building off the momentum of the Green victory.
Perry has to travel to C-Bus to take on Northland. The Panthers have played decent defense two weeks in a row. Northland likes to go empty and throw a lot, but looking at their city series schedule, I don’t think they’ve played the level of competition the Panthers have. Nor have they ever seen Perry’s offense. So, I’m thinking they will come back home next Friday with a W.

To put it lightly, I hope we kick their you know what.

I'm sure the Lake players are happy to get another shot at Hoover. If they play the same game they did the last game. They should have no trouble. Not sure why they didn't pass more against them the 1st game. His kid was 10-11 in the game. Yet Christopher was also running well too. We'll see!

D2 Region 7 is all Columbus area schools other than Perry and Massillon. I think Perry could win a couple games but with Massillon in there yeah we know who should win the region.

That would be incredible! Got to get through Brunswick first, but only one can imagine.
I'm not very happy that we got Brunswick, there are higher seeded teams (such as Normandy) that would be easier to beat. Either way, have to beat whoever is in front of us.

I saw the Brunswick- Walsh game. Brunswick was pretty tough. QB isnt bad. They ran some funky plays on offense. Not sure if they put those in for the Walsh game only or if that's how they typically run their offense. This wont be an easy game for Jackson.

I saw on another thread that Jackson has a bunch of openings for next year. I wonder if they would play Marion Local. One of the Biggest schools in the State vs one of the smallest???
Not exactly Marion Local, but I remember musing with someone in 2018 about playing Kirtland when they played Fort Fyre at Robert Fife. The conclusion we came to was that it would've been a tough matchup with the size of their kids on their offensive and defensive lines.

A little off topic, but I want to take this opportunity to congratulate my former Head Football Coach at Perry, Tom Winkhart, for being inducted in this years class of the Stark County HS Football HOF. He took over a mediocre program in 1965 and in three years won the Panthers first FLC. Followed by the schools first 10-0 season in 69, when I was a junior, and had a run of going 35-5 over a 4 year period. Coach Winkhart was a huge influence on me and I only wish he was still with us to enjoy this.
Coach was a great athlete at Navarre High School. Was All County in 3 sports. Was recruited by Woody Hayes while he was the Head Coach at Miami of Ohio, where he earned a full ride and finished his career starting, for them and Head Coach Ara Parsehgian, who took over for Hayes when he took the job at Ohio State.

Didn't get my chance last week to congratulate the Polar Bears on their first FLC in 7 years. And to boot, the first time they have ever beat McKinley and Hoover in the same season.

At first I was irritated by the Brunswick draw. They have played a murderer's row of a schedule and I could see the Bears taking the L. But I'd rather have them than some no name. If Jackson's to have any chance of knocking off one of the big boys, a gimme game isn't going to help.

Lake up on Hoover
Matson with a 38 yd td run
Then Hoover throws an interception. Christopher scores on a 8 yd run.

Lake gets ball after half. They score and game will essentially be over. Hoover has done nothing like the 1st game.

Green is ahead 28-7 at the half. Riverside looks much worse than the first time the two played, I figure they must have some injury issues on the defensive side of the ball.
