Alliance wins as expected. Carrollton has a no sweat. And a real nice win for the Quakers over their rival. I heard some rumors going around about some words being said by the players but don’t want to spread any false information as I was not at the game. Anybody got any truth as to what went down? I was told there were some derogatory words said by WB but those are pretty vulgar accusations and I don’t want to put any words in anyone’s mouth.

Saturday's games:
Carrollton at Tusky Valley (DH)

The tournament drawings are Sunday. I believe they begin at 2 p.m. In NEO, there are 2 district tournaments, both with 12 teams, at Cene Park and at Louisville. All first-round games are Monday, May 13; sectional finals are Wednesday, May 15. The district dates are Monday, May 20 (2 and 5 p.m.) and Wednesday, May 22 (5 p.m.). These two district champions will play in the regional semifinal at Thurmon Munson Stadium at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. The regional final is Friday, May 31 at 5 p.m.
Seed voting is posted:
1, Poland; 2, Alliance; 3, West Branch; 4, Canfield; 5, Field; 6, Marlington; 7, Hubbard; 8, Madison. Salem is No. 15.

The East District voting hasn't been posted but Carrollton should be among the top 4.

Some non-league games upcoming, but here's the tournament schedule (note: it's a TOURNAMENT, not a playoff. A playoff is a "best of" series, a tournament is a "lose and you're done" format. Just my pet peeve of the day LOL):

Monday, May 13
Louisville Bracket
Kent Roosevelt at Salem (winner at Field on Weds.)

Tuesday, May 14
East 2 District
Minerva at Carrollton

Wednesday, May 15
Cene Park District
Ashtabula Edgewood-Ravenna winner at Alliance
Louisville District
Geneva-Yo. East winner at Marlington
Jefferson Area-West Geauga winner at West Branch

Interesting that No. 2 seed Alliance jumped into the same half-bracket with No. 1 Poland.
And No. 4 Canfield went to the lower half of the same bracket.

As far as playoffs goes: Alliance, West Branch, and Salem advanced. Geneva/Marlington won't take place until tomorrow.

Thursday
Geneva 6, Marlington 5 (D2 tournament)
Field 4, Alliance 2 (reg. season

Also of note, No. 1 seed Poland lost to Ursuline 2-1.

Monday's District semifinals

Carrollton vs. Indian Creek at Edison H.S., 5 p.m.
Salem vs. Geneva at Louisville H.S., 2 p.m.
West Branch vs. NDCL at Louisville H.S., 5 p.m.

Districts could not have broken better for West Branch...
They typically always screw up and lose to someone they shouldn't. If they do it again THIS year, with THIS bracket, well, it would likely be their biggest failure in quite some time and completely inexcusable.

District semifinals
Ursuline 8, Alliance 2
Geneva 5, Salem 2
West Branch 1, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 0
Indian Creek 5, Carrollton 4

Wednesday
West Branch vs. Geneva at Louisville, 5 p.m.

West Branch 9, Geneva 1.
Warriors (23-6) win a district championship for the first time since 2010 and will play Youngstown Ursuline (16-12) at Thurman Munson Stadium at 2 p.m. May 30. Warriors beat Ursuline 3-0 back on March 28 in their season opener.
CVCA (24-4) and Kenston (14-14-1) are the other semifinalists.
...
Hopefully you are happy WBWFanatic. The players sure are.
