As much as I would like to say that. Let's be honest outside of 2 plays and SR letting off the gas. They handled PolandDon't sleep on Poland Seminary.
Don't know about being underrated, but yes either could win R20. R20 does not have a powerhouse team like the other regions in D5.Homer opinion, but I think Greeneview (and accordingly, West Liberty-Salem) are vastly underrated. Fantastic50 has Waynesville 11, Greeneview 17 and Greeneview had no problem beating Waynesville earlier in the season. This may be the year one of those 2 win regional 20.
1. South Range

Poland is good. If SR and Garaway are on the same side of the bracket, I could see Poland in the regional final.Never suggested they were going to take it, but they should be mentioned. They will surprise some reams in D5 R17.
Now, if we're being honest as you say, the reality is that you can't take two quarters off and expect to beat a team like SR. After the first quarter, the real Pav showed up. The play calling was atrocious. You can't have a QB that throws a screen to no one. You can't have a kid touch a ball at the 3 yard line that is clearly going out of bounds. You can't have two blocked punts, for God's sake. Poland made a hard game a lot harder.
I gave and will still give SR their due. The conference is theirs until it's not. They are good and well-coached.
Lots of the regular big mouths on here had written off Poland this season and I think they have shown they were wrong so far. There's still some big contests in these next three games and we'll see what the Dogs do. But, to overlook Poland is not wise.
I’m actually very curious to hear your argument on why you would put Edison over Ironton? Or even in the top 5? They won a hard fought game against Perkins and I acknowledge that it is a great win but in my opinion South Range, Ironton and Liberty Center are just on another level. Ironically, I may even throw Harvest Prep in that convo as well. I’m aware that Prep lost to Perkins but I do think they handle Edison if they were to meet in the playoffs.Edison should leapfrog even if they are from NWO. Impressive win. At least leap frog Ironton, I have them slightly behind Versailles at 6.
Here is how Drew Pasteur sees the Div 5 rankings. There may be a few slight changes I would make but I think he has the rankings almost spot on. Of course this is all speculation and we will certainly get to see who is top dog come playoff time but I feel that South Range, Ironton and Liberty Center have separated themselves from the pack.Edison should leapfrog even if they are from NWO. Impressive win. At least leap frog Ironton, I have them slightly behind Versailles at 6.
Outside of SR and Garaway I would pick both Poland and girard over basically everyone else in that region. It’s very top heavy with 2 really good ones then a huge drop offPoland is good. If SR and Garaway are on the same side of the bracket, I could see Poland in the regional final.
330 we usually don't agree because of who you cheer for, so I'm an saying the 3 NE8 teams are had and shoulders above the rest.Outside of SR and Garaway I would pick both Poland and girard over basically everyone else in that region. It’s very top heavy with 2 really good ones then a huge drop off
Keep that blue and white away from me lmao330 we usually don't agree because of who you cheer for, so I'm an saying the 3 NE8 teams are had and shoulders above the rest.
Garaway would be a distant 4th.
I see Poland/ Girard vs.SR in regional final.
But let's be honest South Range is on a different level.
They easily win region, but I don't think they are dynamic enough to get to finals
Just taking the transitive argument overboard I guess with the win they had. Prep also had an unbelievable win as well, interested to see how they play Lasalle. As for Ironton, I just think they lack what it takes to win it all. I think Prep beats them this year.I’m actually very curious to hear your argument on why you would put Edison over Ironton? Probably an over simplification, but the team that clamps down on Shaun Terry beats Ironton. He's a handful, they just seem to grind & grind until he busts loose. IMHO Ironton's run offense just O.K., pass offense just O.K. Defensively look suspect against a good passing offense.Just taking the transitive argument overboard I guess with the win they had. Fair enough. The transitive argument could also be made in the case of Ironton beating Bishop Hartley 41-0. Bishop Hartley lost to Bishop Watterson 28-13 and Ursuline 41-10. Over the years it’s become a common theme to overlook the great teams that come out of southeastern Ohio due to the fact that the football pedigree is so much higher in other areas of the state. Take logistics out of the equation and focus solely on the level of competition played and the outcome of the games. Ironton is a force to be reckoned with and they will demand respect this year. Ironton also beat St Francis, a team out of New York, who beat Cleveland Benedictine earlier this year. There is a reason that Drew Pasteur has Ironton as the favorite to win it all this year.Just taking the transitive argument overboard I guess with the win they had. Watty was up 21-0 at half then a hurricane came and messed everything up. I'm guessing Ironton gave up WAY more yards then Watterson did even in hurricane as Hartley turned ball over what 2-3 times inside red zone on Ironton? the longest run watty gave up was 9 yards man, 9 yards! I saw several 25 plus from Latham on Ironton. I watched 3 quarters of that game online before Hartley. Both dominated Hartley but I would use these scores to prove much between Ursuline, watty and Ironton except they are much better then Hartley.Fair enough. I agree with everything you said. The other gentleman was using the transitive argument to state a claim. I was showing how that argument can go many different ways.Watty was up 21-0 at half then a hurricane came and messed everything up. Edison beating Perkins is really huge
