2024 Cincinnati Bengals

Any discussion other than the OL sucks and they need a new OL coach. Thats all some posters like to say.

Plenty of areas need fixed as we saw this past season.

Let the drivel begin.

That would be a good start lol. but he hasn't been his whole career. some of that is play calling, blocking schemes and him holding ball to long. Joe said he does that b/c he doesn't mind taking sacks rather than a disaster happening.

Looks like the Bengals will be looking for a OC. I don’t know much about Callahan, I don’t even know if he called the plays in Cincinnati. I know his dad was a NFL coach. I just wonder is he good or was he good because of Joe Burrow? The performance by the Bengals backup qb Jake Browning may be the most impressive thing by the Bengal coaching staff. The kid seemed ready & prepared for the opportunity. Just don’t know if the Titans have a qb as good as Browning on their roster. Picking 7th, I would think they are in the market for a qb.

FWIW, he did not call plays. Hoping Dan Pitcher gets the in house promotion, but he has a few OC interviews elsewhere and may take those if he is able to call the plays.

You're in luck, I'm a Titans fan. So here's the deal, if the Titans draft a QB this season, it will be there 3rd year in a row they draft a QB. 2022 - Malik Willis, last year Will Levis and this year. I feel although Levis didn't get a ton of reps this year, he was behind a horrendous offensive line and I just don't see why they'd draft yet another QB. Heck I'd be ok if they went and got a veteran out there. I just think these force fed young QB's are a big time crap shoot.
Titans have almost always been defensive minded. From Jeff Fisher, to Ken Wisenhunt, to Mike Mularkey and Mike Vrabel. They've normally had a great feature running back ( Eddie George, Chris Johnson, Derek Henry) so outside of Steve McNair later in his career, they've not had a real thrower at QB.
Needs, Titans need to address the aforementioned offensive line. A big decision will lie with D'Andre Hopkins. He's a legit #1 receiver and if he doesn't stay with the Titans, it hurts badly, especially with a young QB. 2022 draftee Treylon Burks has been a bust so far. Callahan should have some rope as the Titans are probably a couple of years away from seriously competing.

Hopefully he takes his dad with him.

Take Texans several years to compete? Titans are in a soft division, draft good, pick-up good FA's and compete for division title this coming year. Again, AFC south is soft, and NFL is full of mediocre teams.

yes, go with Brian and root for the Browns.

Aint happening. Was a browns fan back in the 60's but switched to the Bengals after browns traded Paul Warfield to the Dolphins. If Joe Burrow is the Franchise be a good idea to protect the franchise with a good oline and with a good oline coach. And it is not your forum start your own forum and I will be happy not to go on it.

a little shaken today i see lol. i just asked if we could discuss something other than the oline for once. its all we heard from you for 17 straight weeks. if thats all the bengals need to do it would be different, but if you paid any attention.....scoring wasn't a problem and the offense wasn't a problem for most of the year, but you beloved Anarumo has a few more issues than the oline. Your beloved Joe could have thought about his protection instead signed a 275 mil contract....

Sorry but it appears you are in for some lean years. The front office has consistently proven to do the wrong thing:
* FA signing of OLB Bud Dupree
* Trade involving A.J. Brown
* Drafting of wr T Burke, as you said he’s a bust
* Tannehill - should have jettisoned him after the loss to Cincy/Burrow.

At least the Titans have $68 mil in cap space but the talent on the roster is horrible. Titans took a guard in last year’s draft. He’s a good player and could very well become an All Pro but a team with so many holes, to take a OG is puzzling. I understand taking the two qbs the last two years, trying to get lucky with a mid round pick. Both guys are talented, just neither appear to be starting NFL qb’s.

Joe Burrow is the only reason the Bengals went to the SB 2 years ago and other QB's in the league are pd. similar, Mahomes, Lamar yet KC-ravens can put a good oline in front of their QB's. Bengals were 2nd last in rushing as a team this year, guess it was all Mixon's fault. Browning got sacked on avg. as much as Burrow guess Browning held on the ball too long as well. LOL I have said from the beginning of the year letting Bates and Bell go was a mistake, maybe Bates priced himself out but he was sorely missed. Lou A. defense did struggle this year after 2 good years, hopefully it was just a one-year aberration. But don't act so condescending like you know best because you don't.

Brown was going to be way too expensive to keep, and I think we are now seeing his true stripes with the Eagles. Titans have not done a great job with drafing receivers and I wouldn't draft them anymore. There are plenty of recievers out there on the free agent list annually. Very few are special.
Sorry, between me and you. Tannehill still was the best QB on that team this season. Tannehill subbed in for an ineffective Mariota a few years ago and we went to the AFC championship game in KC. He's been a very good QB for the Titans and his time has just come.

Titans traded Brown for the 18th & 101st picks in the 2022 draft.

18th pick - WR T Burke
101st pick - traded w/26th overall pick to NY Jets for 35th, 69th & 163rd picks who became:
* 35th - CB Roger McCreary
* 69th- OT Nick Perot-Freire
* 163rd - WR Kyle Phillips

To say the lease, the trade of Brown has been bad. Brown had an all pro year in 2022 and decent year in 2023. His new contract is manageable, the Titans had the cap space to sign him to an extension but chose not too. They signed Hopkins to try & replace Brown’s production.

Per over the cap:
* AJ Brown signed a four year, $100 million extension with the Titans. Per PFT, Brown received $57.22 million in guarantees of which $40 million is guaranteed at signing. There are annual per game roster bonuses and workouts in the contract. Brown's salary for the first two years of the contract are guaranteed as well as $3.779 million of his 2024 salary. If on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2023 league year the remainder of his 2024 salary, including workout and roster bonuses will be guaranteed.

* DeAndre Hopkins signed a two year, $26 million contract with the Titans. $10.98 million is guaranteed including a $9.815 million signing bonus. If on the roster on the 5th day of the league year in 2024 he will earn a $4.06 million roster bonus.

the main reason Vrabel isn't in Tennessee anymore is poor drafting, and not just last year but for several years. The Titans have not historically drafted well. So really no matter who the coach is, drafting has to improve or it's going to continue to be a struggle.

condescending? where did you pull that from? you do nothing but bash the bengals but say you root for them. on the other hand i criticize the bengals and offer suggestions. you just get offended because i point out some good things and they don't all involve joe. the reason the bengals got to super bowl is because the offense was efficient behind a terrible OL, but the defense was great and so were special teams.

Who is on your wish list with free agency opening tomorrow? A couple guys that can upgrade the defense I’d love to see them make a run at are Daniel Hunter and Christian Wilkins.
