Avon and Hoban should definitely stay on Glenville's schedule. Those are games you have to play. I'd like to see them drop Liberty and add Ed's and/or Ursuline next year too.Hoban usually has trouble getting local games. I’m guessing they will play as long as Coach Ginn wants to keep scheduling them. I know Avon will renew Glenville for as long as Coach Ginn wants to keep that series going. Glenville is a tough test for anyone. Teams that want to test themselves will want the Tarblooders on their schedule.
They did bro they was down like 10 kids tonight hats off too the Ville for staying in the gameHoban played Glenville with backups.
Tbh IMHO I don't think this year is any different no team in D4 can honestly match up with Glenville. I also believe that Glenville schedule helps prepare them for the playoffs outside of the Senate League the way I look at it is by the time week 11 hits whoever Glenville was playing around one of the playoffs would probably be the 4th best team Glenville has faced compared to Glenville more than likely will be the best team that they have faced all season that is tough in the playoffs if you're playing your best team that your team has played all year first round of the playoffs is pretty tough and that's why I feel like Glenville will end up walking through division 4 yet again. I know this might sound stupid because we all know the playoffs is never easy but when you play a schedule that they have played most teams will honestly be easier than what you have faced in the regular season. What a lot of people also fails to realize most teams when they see Glenville for the first time up close their intimidated which plays a huge factor as wellI agree with you. Last year to me was a no brainer. This year might be a little different.
Calpreps has Glenville ranked at #145 in the nation out of about 13,000 teams. They lost competitive games to the #4, #19 and #51 ranked teams in the nation. They can compete with any team in Ohio.Tbh IMHO I don't think this year is any different no team in D4 can honestly match up with Glenville. The hatred you have for Glenville is unhealthy. See your therapistWell, Glenville's prodigious athletic talent has been the stuff of legend. And yet, they've lost three games this year, and in none of them did they look to have more talent, speed, discipline, or coaching than the team that beat them. Will they win D4 anyway? Maybe -- but there are a few hotboxes on the hype train.
The private school public school debate has been going on for eternity. All states it's the same way. Look at your state champions, national rankings. 2 thirds to 3 fourths are private schools. Schools have open enrollment now, kids transfer to other schools all the time. Schools have voted in the past to have separate playoffs for public schools and private schools. The vote has never passed. Also not every private school is winning and dominating every year and when a public school wins against a private school nobody says anything. The minute they don't oh they recruit we can't beat them. I went to Hoban in the early to mid 1970's . Hoban was average at best when I was there. They got their doors blown off many times from public schools Warren Western Reserve, Barberton, Akron Garfield to name just a few.At what point does OSHAA step in and do what is right?
Just envious of the state championship you won on the field last year since they can’t do that. The hatred you have for Glenville is unhealthy. See your therapist
What's "right"?At what point does OSHAA step in and do what is right?
A. Who didn't follow the rules, what rule(s) did they break, and what privileges should they lose?Loss of privileges to the teams who do not follow the rules would be a great step in the right direction
Who is not following the rules? I don't recall, St Eds, Ignatius, Moeller StX or Hoban in trouble with the Ohsaa outside of Hobans coach getting a 1 game suspension.I believe it was the opening week of the playoffs.I am not sure what he was suspended for?Loss of privileges to the teams who do not follow the rules would be a great step in the right direction
Here's a better question:At what point does OSHAA step in and do what is right?
Probably lose. After rethinking things, Glenville lost to some of the best around. How would any other DIV team do against the teams they lost to?
Its rather genius. If you can beat the system then why wouldnt you?Doesn't it seem strange that the other Cleveland City Schools are all in a higher division than Glenville D4? John Marshall D1, John Adams D2, John Hay D2, Rhodes D2, East Technical D3,Lincoln West D3, and Collinwood D3.
That's why the CB was created. Hoban would definitely be D3 or 4 if there was no CB. Glenville has a zero CB with at least 13 transfers that started or lettered at other high schools last year. No one really cares that none of their players actually attend Glenville or graduate there (all GA); it's that they continue to flip their roster every year and still carry a zero CB (3 years in a row). If they'd just given them a 75, 130, 168 or something, I think people would back off, but a zero is hilarious. The private school public school debate has been going on for eternity.
